Whatβs next in line after SSL?
Will have to see what's low. I have a feeling it's soft heart sandalwood.
If I do do that I'll scoop and keep a small sample which I did for reserve cool.

I had a pretty harsh shave along my jawline. I don't think I was careful enough with this first-use GEM blade.
Christmas Eve is a nice scent to shave with though. Thoroughly enjoyable.

First uses of GEM blades so get you if you're not careful!
I'll need to get a full tub of Christmas Eve next winter. It's that good.

A really exceptional shave. This is the best this blade has felt yet. So smooth. I hate to admit it, as it might shine light on my weaknesses as a shaver, but until now, all 11 prior shaves with this blade have given me weepers. This is the first time not getting a weeper. The shave is super close and comfortable, too.
Maybe I should give credit to Stirling instead of the blade, but I've used Stirling within the past 11 shaves, so...
This soap has half the scent notes at least: Pine, Fir, Evergreen, Vanilla, Cranberry, Mistletoe, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Nutmeg

Day 05 of Atlas Shaves 2 β Electric Boogaloo Wed 05 Feb 2025
- Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Manchurian
- Razor: Puma 88 (5/8", round tip, carbon steel, hollow ground)
- Lather: Stirling Soap Co. β Christmas Eve
- Post Shave: Old Spice β Original
- Fragrance: Southern Witchcrafts β Autumn Ash
I was a bit afraid when these scent notes came up because I couldn't think of any soaps I have that shave 2 or more of them. Turns out I'm just very bad at knowing which scent notes are in my soaps, and I have (at least) Autumn Ash, Samhain, Christmas Eve, and Old Spice that fit the bill. Today I went with three pieces of software that all fit:
- Soap Smooth β Pumpkin: Pumpkin, Ginger, Nutmeg, Cinnamon
- Stirling Soap Co. β Christmas Eve: Pine, Fir, Evergreen, Vanilla, Cranberry, Mistletoe, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Nutmeg
- Old Spice β Old Spice: Aldehydes, Orange, Heliotrope, Carnation, Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Cedar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Musk, Lemon, Vanilla, Jasmine, Geranium
- Southern Witchcrafts β Autumn Ash: Maple, Spices (including cinnamon & nutmeg as per phteven_j), Smoke, Amber, Cedar, Oud, Rainwater, Plum, Blackberry, Ash, Birch Tar, Pumpkin, Coffee, Damp Earth, Mildew

Atlas Shaves II - Day 5
- Brush: Chisel & Hound Chocolate Drop 26mm v19 Fanchurian Badger Knot
- Razor: Blutt Rasur BR-1 0.99
- Blade: Gillette Nacet [16]
- Lather: Barrister and Mann - Smoking Bishop - Soap
- Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Smoking Bishop - Aftershave
Soap Smooth is a vendor that seems to have disappeared by the time I started with the hobby. The resulting Pumpkin scent I think has pushed most of us to use holiday scents ranging from Halloween to Christmas.
Smoking Bishop fits the Christmas category as a nice mulled wine scent that uses wine, orange, grapefruit, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pipe tobacco as the scent notes.
While rule 2 states that @djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social can't keep track of scores through the portal this month, I am adopting his nifty score tracker.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
New soap company for me. I tried Citrus Bay Rum yesterday and learned that I like the soap base a lot. Very easy to lather and has a rich creamy feel. Maple Bourbon is a very nice scent. I expected the bourbon note to be stronger and darker, but it is definitely there. Very nice fragrance.
Today's shave was a test of a new Escher edge on my Le Transatlantique. Complete success. The edge was keen and the feel was comfortable.

Since @vext01@lemmy.sdf.org mentioned a good shave with his 1912, I felt inspired to take mine out as well. The experience with this razor is always good, and today was no exception. I'm making progress on Ishtar β I'm seeing the bottom of the tub.
Have a good night!
