That kid has a future as a developer. Maybe even QA manager

[–] kubica@fedia.io 25 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Or an engineer: "Assume the dog is a sphere..."

In a vacuum or course

[–] grue@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

That's more of a scientist thing. Engineers have to actually care about moment of inertia.

Ok......but the official choices? Those suck.

Hero. Ok. That one's cool.

Companion. That's just someone you hang out with. A hobo on the bus is a companion for 20 minutes because he won't shut up about how working at McDonalds is a life threatening job.

Worker. That's everybody over the age of 8. What the hell???

Replace Hero with Super Hero. Replace Companion with Champion. And replace Worker with Boss Bitch.

Yeeeaaaaahhhhh!!!!

Where's the "little asshole" category that my dog fits in?

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If your dog is fitting inside your little asshole, there's a whole dark side of the internet that we don't need kids to see THOSE videos......

He is a little asshole he is not a suppository dog (although he is half-dachshund so I can see why someone might think that).

I'm sorry sir but your dog is a cat

It's funny that you write this because my initial reaction was and is the exact opposite: The categories should be something that cover what most dogs are, so that the children can actually circle one that really fits.

Hero? Which dogs would actually be considered heroes? Maybe one that saves a child from a burning building or something, but that's basically nothing anyone can really circle.
Companion? That's okay I guess, most dogs are companions (but not all)
Worker? Which dog is a worker? Maybe a police dog or something, but almost no normal pet dog people have.

So you can basically only circle companion, and what about dogs whose personalities don't fit? I think the categories should be more realistic so that children aren't disappointed nothing really fits or that their dog wouldn't be as "good" as someone else's.

This is homework designed for someone in like preschool to 2nd grade age range. I wouldn't put it past those kids to circle hero because "they make me happy" or worker because "they help my parent with..." Or what have you
