Hey Squid. Please edit he title to have [AI] in it? Getting a lot of reports about that. Also the "deadly" ain't really accurate either.
The basis of the joke is most commonly attributed to Mitch Hedberg.
A person of culture, I see.
Who's the guy on the right?
Allow me to show you an example of a mod following the rules.
You sweet summer child. If this is your biggest challenge, let me tell you about a thing called rent.
That's always understandable. I think the bigger picture here is that we sometimes forget that they're all humans, not just public figures. They have other thoughts and opinions that aren't curated for the world.
Plus, Sagan's era didn't have Internet. People weren't sharing with the world every single fucking thought that came out of their head. I'm sure we would've heard Sagan say some dumb shit here and there if he had to produce today's world's kind of content.
I dunno I kind of hate sitting where someone else's sweaty ass has sat on first. I'll let this one slide.
Just want to pitch in and clarify the misinformation topic, since this is something explicitly mentioned in the Lemmy.World TOS, section 8.
Specifically, the type of misinformation that is prohibited is that which is harmful to others. Here's a direct quote that pretty much sums up the matter:
So that being said, you're all free to talk all the shit you want. I'm only going to care if the shit you talk is actually harmful.
OPs shit is in no way demonstrably harmful to anyone in any relevant manner. So they get to keep talking it.
Edit: I'll concede, you may be put in harms way if you try to drink camel saliva. I presume they kick pretty hard. But frankly, you deserve it for trying.
