The answer sort of defies Bettridge's Law in that it is in the "not even wrong" category of stupid shit.

He was talking about a different Gaza. And Hamas isn't there.

You know what is there? AIDS and other STDs.

Even given that, I love this statistic:

"“USAID procures condoms for around $0.05 apiece,” he wrote on Wednesday on X. “$50m would be ONE BILLION condoms. What’s going on here is NOT a billion condoms for Gaza. What’s going on is that the bros at DOGE apparently can’t read govt spreadsheets.”"

They are not sending a billion condoms ANYWHERE.

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 1 points 1 hour ago

Are you sure? A billion condoms sounds like the right amount. If you only use one condom per day and have a population of 1 million people adult men, that's only 1000 days worth of condoms.

So we'd need more than a billion per year.

Yep. They were funding sexual health in Gaza, Mozambique. But Trump heard Gaza and sexual health and went THEY'RE SENDING CONDOMS TO HAMAS!!?!???!!

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 15 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Then took it a step further and said they're making condom bombs out of them.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago

He should have called them Condom Bombdoms. And he's supposed to be a marketing expert.

Even if they were, shouldn't they be overjoyed at the prospect of "less terrorists"? You can't beat 0.05 a pop for that goal in any possible way - a bullet is more expensive.

They also want to outlaw birth control. It's not like anything they say or do is in any way rational.

outlaw birth control

It might be different when they can use it for eugenics and genocide though.

We should be ignoring everything he says and wants for 4 years.

Put him in his own little instance of twitter with Russian bots and let him piss away the years.

So here's a quick chart for telling if something is true or not: Did Trump say it? -> Its absolutely untrue Did someone else say it?-> It may be true

[–] davidgro@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

Unless he's talking about something terrible he's planning to do. Then it's likely true.

Time and time again a singular question circles my mind! How does that man win elections?

[–] blakenong@lemmings.world 7 points 20 hours ago

Promising to cause pain to others. It really is the best way to get someone on your side.

Worse than no. Even stupider.

[–] gimmelemmy@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

Well, drumpf said it, so...

[–] blakenong@lemmings.world 2 points 20 hours ago

Trump brand condoms, now with even more holes.
