Wednesday is good for me. I'm looking forward to trying Don JosΓ©. For September, I'll nominate Wholly Kaw Aranceto. This is the scent of an orange grove. Nice mix of orange, earth and green imo. I wouldn't call this a fall scent, so it's goodbye to summer.

I've seen some good reviews of this one. Where does it fall in terms of sweetness?
I don't think it is particularly sweet at all. The earthiness and wood of an orange grove comes through. It is a citrus scent but has the brightness and crispness toned down.
Good initiative, thanks!
All the samples I've sent have arrived, so everything is ready for Wednesday.
I'm fine with a turning presidency mode, but until that's actually decided, I'll nominate Barrister and Mann Lavanille.
I got my sample (big sample, thanks @djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social) the other day. I live on the east coast of the US, so other parts of the country will take a little longer.
For the next edition, I nominate:
Noble Otter - Batters Up
It got such a bad rap, but I love it. I think people were just expecting something else after reading the ad copy, which I get. If you ignore any mention of a baseball theme, it's just a really great, strong, unique scent.
Yeah, I put 10g in each, this way everyone gets more than one try.
I think that an early preparation is a very good move, thanks! Probably leaves us more time for voting, since if I'm not mistaken, the next installment would only take place in late September?
I plan to stay a permanent addition to the BVWSC and since I'm based in Germany, I could easily send out soap samples to 3 other members:
- sahenders (also based in π©πͺ)
- You (π¨π΅ so should be fast and no duty fees)
- djundjila (π¨π but envelopes aren't as expensive as packages; last mail to him got there pretty freaking fast for DHL)
Personally, I like the democratic voting process a bit more. It also gives us a few options to choose from and the european members can coordinate better with the US members. Shipping to and from the US is an expensive nightmare, so if we choose any soap that one of us four euro folks already owns it'd be better if we help out with sending samples regardless of what model we adapt for BVWSC.
With that being said, I nominate: Moon Soaps Union (barbershop scent with a slight touch of menthol).
I'll nominate Macduffs' Old Strathcona, an earthy barbershop/fougère fit for fall.
I've never tried Macduff's but the Discord seems to be big fans of it.
Should we start a voting thread on this?
Oops, nevermind π
