Tub kill.
I've been setting myself up for back-to-back kills -- and tomorrow I'll give myself a Christmas gift of killing a tub of Roam.
It turns out my wife actually likes Hamami. She hasn't said anything about it until today when I showed her these two tubs, bragging about killing them back to back. I still have the aftershave and EdT so that's good.
Today's GEM experiment involved a "corked" blade and non-corked blade. Corked went in the Clog-Pruf and non went in the MMOC. Couldn't tell a difference, really.
Nice shave. I'll probably continue using GEM's for a couple more days (maybe longer because I'll have to pack a razor for a road trip) just to make sure I get them all in. I still have a Pushbutton and the MM24 to use, and I'd like to use the Ever-Ready Streamline again before sending @EldrormR@sub.wetshaving.social his razors back.
In other news, I've set Lemmy to be restarted every 6 hours. This will keep the federation bug in check until the developers find a fix. Apologies in advance if a restart interrupts your use of the instance, but they should be very quick.
I'm not surprised. The idea of drawing an edge through cork or soft wood is used in knife sharpening to deburr an edge or to remove fatigued metal that is about to fracture. I wouldn't expect shaving to create edge conditions where corking would be very effective. Though I wouldn't do it with a replaceable blade, I can see where stropping (palm, denim, etc.) could make a difference.
Congratulations on the kill! It so happens that Hamami was my last full tub kill (a year ago?)
Thanks for doing this! I noticed that the federation with our Mastodon instance works again. Yay๐
And congrats on the tub kill. Maybe one day I will know that feeling too ๐
