This is a quintessentially liberal comment. There is no substance to it, no concrete plan of action that would help anyone. Just fantastical thinking and moralizing. Bravo.

If you are aware of how much they've been targeted then what do you think there's left to sanction or tariff? Seems like somebody needs to work on their critical thinking faculties here.

While you've been living in a cave for the past three years, the trade with Russia was pretty much completely cut, Russian foreign assets have been stolen, and Russia is now cut out of SWIFT.

I'm guessing he's punishing the blue states here cause that's where most of the trade with Canada happens.

I very much agree. Reindustrializing the US is a Herculean task requiring decades of sustained effort. It demands restructuring supply chains, building infrastructure and factories, training workers, all needing massive investments with no clear funding source in today's political climate and capitalist relations. However, it's important to distinguish feasible goals from the ruling class's aspirations. They frequently ignore material realities, opting instead for decisions rooted in wishful thinking.

Sure, everything over the past decade is just Putin playing 4D chess. The mastermind genius effortlessly maneuvers, puppeteering clueless Western leaders into self-destruction without them even noticing it.

If Trump's actions finally make westerners realize that China is a better partner, then that's an absolute win.

I'm increasingly getting the impression that the US now realizes that the unipolar moment is over, and they're basically cutting their losses in order to consolidate and retrench. The interview that Rubio gave was very telling. He openly admitted that the unipolar moment was an anomaly and there are now multiple great powers again. He also admitted in a different interview that the ability to use sanctions is coming to an end because of BRICS. This was a really good discussion on the whole thing https://glenndiesen.substack.com/p/did-the-us-declare-the-end-of-the

The US will continue doing fuckery around the world to be sure, but it looks like they're pulling back to re calibrate their approach at the moment.

Seems that you missed my point that Canada is moving in the exact same direction the US is. The conservatives here are mirror of Trump, and they're most likely to win a majority in the upcoming election.

What's incredible to me is that these trends were glaringly apparent for decades. Yet, Western liberals deliberately chose to turn a blind eye. Now, they are realizing that they are no longer seated at the table, sharing in the spoils, but have instead become part of the feast themselves.

Canada's not far behind the US in this regard, so not sure where this railway would lead to.
