Oregon and Washington would probably do the same if California seceded. (Which it won't). If BC Canada left, Cascadia would be a thing that is large and prosperous enough to stand on it's own. That or the three states just join Canada.

I find lemm.ee is better than most but yeah as others have said, since everything is federated and the majority mass of users are hardcore leftists there's no way to really avoid them. Just get used to the downvotes and easily offended snowflakes and instabans and hope that as more people leave the mainstream social medias for federated socials that these people will be watered down.
Yeah I got permabanned for supporting Luigi. Maybe a bit too enthusiastically but it is what it is. Every account I make now gets auto banned even if I use VPN.
I could probably get around it with a paid VPN and the Brave browser but I don't really want to blow any money on getting to a shit community anyway. The only things I miss are my interest subs like pottery, landscaping, etc. The ones here are dead.
But enough CEOs are turning out to be asshats and people are fleeing for the fediverse so it may get more active and diverse here.
