I read this years ago and loved it, I'll have to check out the TV show!

Another option would be to use something like Duplicati and have your backups be cloud agnostic. It fully encrypts the backups so it doesn't matter who the vendor is or if they are good guys.

This assumes you have the TB of space locally though.

They just released a Windows client I think so it's definitely coming along.

The Burning Land by Bernard Cornwell. It's book 5 in the last kingdom series that the TV show is based off of. I love the time period.

There's a saying similar to this, but I can't recall the source. It goes something like find something that you enjoy, that you're good at, that people need, and are willing to pay for, that not everybody can do.

Totally agree.

Another option would be to jailbreak an old device and install koreader. It works on all kinds of old hardware.

How fast would that battery die? Also the screens probably add substantial weight. This thing isn't practical at all, but it is very flashy.

To me it sounds like they are trying to Embrace, Extend, Extinguish the fediverse. I wouldn't doubt if at first they adopted it with all the standards then started doing proprietary crap

This is an excellent comic. When I first discovered it, I couldn't put it down. What an insane situation. I think it's important to be and to recognize the signs so schools like that can be avoided/destroyed.
