I was thinking of pickup up the Arrow Video Blu-ray in preparation for the upcoming release of the sequel. Is it just the 4K affected?

[–] UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk 2 points 1 month ago

Beaten by thirteen minutes! 😆 Considering this never had a Blu-ray release, I may have to pick this one up.

I think it's safe to say the majority of the time, it will be the same disc with cheaper packaging. With 4K being niche, I can't imagine that the studios would want to spend the money pressing a new version of the film.

The problem is that nearly all games need huge patches after launch, and so it makes physical collecting a bit pointless these days.

In terms of Switch games, several publishers have deliberately being using smaller carts (to save money) and you have to download the rest of the game when you get home with your purchase. I remember the guys who ported Diablo III were proud of the fact the entire games was on the cartridge upon launch.

I don't consider publicity stills printed onto postcards as something worth paying extra money for. "Art cards" indeed!

There seems to be a trend of charging an extra £10 or so because they've filled the box with extra items which are just paper related.

I know Godzilla Minus One is a new release, but it's a bare bones disc for £29! If you want the special features, it looks like you need the special edition for £66. Ouch.

There are tons of great documentaries out there and it was always a surprise to discover them. Especially when the dvd case listed it as a featurette and it turned out to run for 60 minutes or so.

The Bladerunner documentary I think is about 3½ hours long, The Frigteners has one that lasts 4½ hours. 12 Monkeys has one called The Hamster Factor and Other Tales of 12 Monkeys which is excellent.

But sometimes, they can be disappointing. Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny comes with an hour long documentary but it's terrible (in my opinion).

You know those promo interviews that are edited with quick cuts of behind the scenes action and everyone says how great making the film was. It's that for an hour. I lasted 20 minutes.

It's not like the old days where it focuses on one aspect like a certain stunt or sequence and then breaks it down and talks to the relevant people. It's just all over the place.

It's a two year old SIM only deal with Three. I've been with then for several years now and this contract expires in three weeks.

According to the app, I can upgrade to their Black Friday offer of the same conditions (unlimited everything) for just £22 a month! 😆

My contract will probably just keep rolling unchanged month to month but I wouldn't be surprised if Three try and get me to commit to something.

Nope. Truly unlimited and I'm allowed to tether it as well. So when I'm in hotels away at work, it's my source of internet for my tablet and laptop.

Here in the UK, I'm currently on unlimited everything, calls, messages and data, for £18 per month.

I was surprised at the long load time initially and had a quick fly of an A10 warthog from a local small airfield.

This was on my Xbox Series S and it was a bit stuttery in places. It's clearly not meant for this console. This is for the pcs with big GPUs.

Lucas is known to be pack rat, he keeps everything. Did you know there's a version of Star Wars that doesn't use bluescreen for the travelling shots.

They tried using rear protection, think 70s TV shows when two people were travelling in a car and chatting, for Luke talking while driving his land speeder and possibly the shots in the falcon cockpit.

He's got all this stuff and more. Every time there's a new Star Wars documentary from Lucasfilm, it's amazing seeing new behind the scenes footage even after all this time.

There's deleted scenes from Indiana Jones films that have never seen the light of day for example.

It's time to talk about Fight Club

This month marks 25 years since David Fincher's influential film arrived in theaters, and to celebrate, the filmmaker is overseeing a new 4K Ultra HD remaster of the New Regency and 20th Century Fox film. Fincher is also planning a theatrical re-release early next year, though details

such as a date or the number of theaters

are being kept under wraps.

In addition, Fincher will release a 25th anniversary art book, including new interviews, rare behind-the-scenes material and unearthed visuals. The book arrives via Insight Editions and New Regency.

Count me in for the 4K and the book! Love this film!

As reported by the Digital Bits, Constantine (2005) is getting a 4K release at some point next year, it's 20th anniversary. It's listed on Amazon UK with a temporary release date of years end.

Once again, it's another 4K release in a fancy tin, posters and cards and they want £45 for it. Ouch.

The sequel is currently in development with the script apparently been finished a month or so ago.

Campbell said, “We’re just developing it. So we are, but these are slow-motion, molasses processes, so it could be years away.”

Now it’s just about time for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to come home, as Deadline reports that Warner Bros. will giving it a PVOD and digital release on October 8th. It will be available for purchase or rental on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and more on that date. The 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD physical media release will follow on November 19th.

I can see the message but can't seem to actually reply to it.

Thank you.

Still loving Thunder but there are two issues I'm having in creating posts.

When I enter an URL, the app gives me a suggested title but selecting it does nothing.

One community wants me to select the language. Again I can find the language in the list but not select it.

I hope you can help.

EDIT: okay, both of these features work on my phone but not my tablet. Both are Android device.

If you jump to about 29:30 in this video, they briefly talk about Tron: Legacy and what Kosinski can reveal of the new sequel.

What's more exciting is that he mentions they just finished a 4K remaster of Tron: Legacy. Unfortunately, this is believed to be for Disney+ only, with no news of a physical release. Some rumours say it has been done for the new Apple VR headset. As you may recall, the film was also released in 3D.

Maybe this will change when the third film hits cinemas / home media.

I love the first two Hellboy films and also quite enjoyed the 2019 version as well (sorry haters)😆.

Much like The Crow reboot, there have been no images released yet so we don't know what actor Jack Kesy looks like as the titular Hellboy.

There always seems to be quite a few of the usual pdf's of the now defunct special effect magazine Cinefex floating around.

Does anyone know of somewhere that has the complete collection I could acquire in one go?

Cinefex did go digital via an iOS app and I always wondered if someone would somehow download the entire contents but I guess it never happened.
