I've been a chef for 15 years. This job is BOTH physically and mentally exhausting. Not to mention the rampant drug and alcohol addictions.

If you really wanna do this, go for it. I suggest you try to find the ritziest place in the area. Pizza places are where I would go for a new plug in a new city.

Oh, and you aren't gonna get paid.

That's always been my policy. I never used apples so I gave a big 'ol shrug if that's what needed fixing.

Once I get more comfortable with Linux, I'll be giving the same shrug to windows troubleshooting.

James Kraft was born in Canada, moved to the US in 1902 and invented the cheese in 1903.

I dunno, I don't think it's long enough to count. That shit is Canadian.

Tasting History by Max Miller. Excellent choice!

Ouch? Who gives a fuck about the hormonal opinions of naive teenagers?

It was a moral imperative for much of the North. Lincoln only barely scraped out the Republican nomination. His main opponent was William Seward who was a "radical" abolitionist. Had Seward won the nomination, there may have been some fracturing of the newly formed Republican party. So while there was indeed a portion of the population who felt the complete abolition of slavery was too far, a huge chunk agreed with Seward. In particular, his own wife, Francis Seward. She abhorred slavery and I urge everyone to read her writings upon the subject.

I've been a chef for awhile and at this one place we were making and packaging individual servings of things. Like cookies or granola bars.

Well we decided to start doing cold brews and one of the cooks wanted me to buy the Toddy System.

Absolutely no way was I going to spend the money on something like that when a bucket will do the same thing.

French press is my most common way to brew for myself. I like that I can make enough for just one cup at a time.

I also like to do espresso if it's the middle of the day and I don't wanna spend 10 minutes in the French press.

Nope! My go-to's are French press, drip, or espresso. All of them straight up.

But occasionally, I like Vietnamese coffee which is made with condensed milk. You're no heathen.
