I wouldn't take my bike onto the road with a sidewalk right there. If there wasn't a sidewalk I'd ride in the grass. If there was no grass I'd find another way. If even that's not an option I just live in America.

Seriously tho. People who talk about bicycles online aren't representative of those who use them.

I don't see it getting better before it gets much worse. Exploitation is the closest legal term. This is something we have literally never seen before as a species. It's like naming a whole new animal or landmark - nothing to be done in haste. So much of the discussion is useless because it's been framed in the favor of our abusers. In almost every facet, from the server to your phone - it's just trying to suck every bit of labor it can to feed the cycle.

Should anyone use social media as it exists today? Is it really social media anymore? Does that mask really cover all the horribleness

Why propose? If it was really the goal, wouldn't it have happened already. Honestly sounds like you're already married tbh.

For a very brief period where America could grow and operate with impunity; An entire generation took the world and shaped it in their hands. Worts and All, I think it was a net positive. Schoolchildren saw this for what it was, and soon it became part of the zeitgeist that is american culture. Good or bad I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

They should know they have options at least. Then they can make the decision for themselves.

People look at the advertising for this shit (and future tech-bro shit) and wonder, "who is this for"? Remember E.L.O.N. Exaggerated Lies Overlooked Narratives

Think of every manager and boss you've ever had. They don't think, they just do. Salesmen convince them using issues that don't exist, to sell solutions that don't really work, to people that don't understand how to use them. Repeat over 70 years and you have the modern American education system.

Now things are different. Money is scarce, things are getting tight. Tech-Bros have changed from a mildly infuriating strategy, to a downright abusive one. These simple minded managers think everything is under attack, and the only solution is what they already have, but heavily monetized and completely unusable.
