I've thought of this, but don't have the wherewithal to actually make a project come to fruition.

I'm also not a lawyer, but I've read multiple articles on this, and it doesn't seem like any legal violation. Corporation got lazy, didn't confirm where 10m in royalties went and under what circumstance, and got burned.

Finally a corp gets scammed by the common man.

I say good on him.

We live in troubled times, the planet is overheating at a rate that it might affect my life more than being more uncomfortable in the summer. And that's Texas summers at that.

There is an island of plastic refuse in the ocean bigger than some countries.

I saw the home computer come to the living room and the internet be birthed.

If you were to ask if I was jaded as a kid, already? Yeah. Around 7 years old.

It isn't getting better. Corporations claw for more and more at the expense of the people and the planet.

I hope the younger generations can lead the charge of change, but for me... I don't have the time or energy to play games most days, let alone change the planet.

And for those who will say, "Aren't you just part of the problem then?" Sadly yes, I am. I try to make changes when I can, but I fear changing the small environment of my home will not be enough.

Worked in Yellowstone.

The bears are smarter than the majority of tourists.

Humans, being able to read and having signs posted in multiple languages for them, choose to ignore the various hazards and blunder through them.

Bears, only rarely, if ever, find themselves in trouble with natural features. And they can't read the warning signs.

We have 8 animals and alcoholic relative living with us.

We went to the local library, I had ear buds and my laptop as was content to do my thing (cyber security stuff, all legal) and my wife was busy talking to the person running the 3D printer because she can't seem to dial hers in settings wise.

The quiet, the lack of stress, the ability to just focus on something without dealing with an issue for a while....

It was fine until the relative... well, thats another story. They all end like that lately.

I was in grade school. Doing an experiment where we sliced off a section of fruit to put under a microscope.

My dumb ass, with a plastic butter knife, managed to get the worst cut my thumb has ever seen.

That thing was rough and ragged, and got infected and was a bitch to heal.

Just saying, with enough stupidity, you can really harm yourself with harmless objects, lol.

Pretty sure checking a post on their site, say for a BG3 build idea, doesn't constitute abuse.

The powers that be sacrificed their only value, their user base, to make money quick. We'll see how it plays out long term, but I've moved away from social media. My lemmy use is only on my desktop at this point, and I get precious little time at it, so most of it isn't spent on lemmy.

In my state, with my employer, yes absolutely NSFW.

I don't agree, just saying what the GOP leaning corpos are making rules of.

I wish I had that option in a previous campaign.

We even had a rule set, if your character dies, you can reroll a new character. Same level. Gearing would be similar (in power, not the same gear).

I hated my character. Mechanically I just did NOT enjoy playing them.

Being a mentally ill character (GOO warlock, Cthulhuesque patron of madness, part of the pact) I turned to depression, fool hardy risks, etc. The DM just would NOT let that character die.

I just wanted to play a character that better fit the party and campaign. Having a "Face" character in a campaign with a stupid barbarian (both player and int score) that solved every problem with a great axe, and if there wasn't a problem created one, was useless.

Got stopped by guards at the gate of a new town? Instead of just talking for 30 seconds, the party wound up jailed and forced into trial by combat. It didn't end well. Then I (the host for every session, but not DM) changed jobs and schedules and no one else would host so it died.

I spent a summer in Yellowstone as an employee, which meant I had a pretty bad ass backyard for a bit lol.

I grew up in the suburbs, though have been to homes in rural areas at night.

Let me tell you, a place like YS is another level of dark.

Hikes under a full moon were tough. Under a new moon? Nah, I went back to civilization. I didn't need to get injured in the dark and be unable to hike my way out.

Dark has a new meaning in those conditions. And yeah, I can easily see that totally natural occurrences taking on a supernatural vibe in those conditions. Especially if someone was eating grain infected with ergot mold, or dehydrated, or exhausted, etc.

Ergot mold is the precursor for LSD, for those unaware. It's one of the theories regarding werewolves actually. People tripping balls at night high on ~~LSD~~ mold poisoning.

Don't work in medical IT.

It has been literally life and death before.

I was gonna say, on paper inert gas asphyxiation shouldn't be painful.

In execution, well... shit. Pun not originally intended, but I'm leaving it.
