Canned Shave Goop

  • Brush: Omega - 11047 Mixed Midget Badger and Boar #MISTURA
  • Razor: Merkur - Futur #ZAMAC
  • Blade: Derby Premium
  • Lather: Palmolive - Classic
  • Post Shave: Pitralon - Swiss version
  • Fragrance: MΓ€urer & Wirtz - Tabac Original Craftsman
  • Bowl: Shaving Suribachi Bowl Teak by Steve Woodhead

Theme and post+frag relevance: The Palmolive stick is from a clearance sale at the nearest pharmacy three years ago. Pitralon and and Craftsman are from the two nearest department stores. All software on is theme.

Challenge: I normally face rub and face lather shaving sticks, so today I bowl rubbed and bowl lathered it. The rough kushi-no-me pattern in my suribachi bowl makes this a breeze, so I have accidentally found a very functional, albeit entirely unnecessary, method of shave stick usage. u/Merikus should extend the GUTL, there is new science on the matter, and 27 steps are no longer sufficient.

The mixed midget did its thing. Really a surprisingly good toy sized brush. I had a fantastic BBS shave with the Futur on level 5 (for the fifth day of LG). This loud, chattery SOB is big, slippery, and its blade clamp mechanism is a mere suggestion to the blade not to wander off too far. My point is that it has no business giving me good shaves, but there it is.

#photocontest: u/pppork sent me these handy razor head protector chickens, perfect for the bird theme.

Congrats on killing Cherry Pipe. Let me know if you come across a really good cherry tobacco scent.

  • Brush: AP Shave Co Strawberry Cream 26mm G5A

  • Blade: Personna Platinum (6)
  • Lather: Cremo - Palo Santo - Cream
  • Post Shave: Combe Inc. - Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Thayers - Rose - Toner
  • Fragrance: Imaginary Authors - Whispered Myths - Eau de Parfum

I purchased this Cremo at a local drug store two years ago for the Lather Games and I have only used it in the Lather Games. Since I normally face lather, I bowl lathered the Cremo today. Terrible lather. It was very foamy, but I was able to make it work. Other than that, it was a very nice shave.

Whispered Myths has notes of oud, cantaloupe, cedarwood, muskdana, honey, and salvaged shipwreck. I live by the Chesapeake Bay and, by far, this is the best smelling shipwreck I've encountered.

Sounds intriguing!

Yes. I got it as a sample and, given the notes, I quite like the fragrance.

Wednesday, June 5, 2024: Sheepish Wednesday

I was too tired to operate a straight razor safely, and cut myself in the lip. Nothing too bad, but I should probably use a DE until I'm back in better shape. Otherwise, I'm very happy about the Russian bear, and Electric Sheep is really a cool scent. It has what the French call peps, but I don't know how to translate this πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Have a good night!

Isn't it just "pep" in English too? That's an anglicism in French, I think.

Someone hand me the holy water!

[–] djundjila 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

also, sorry about the cut!

[–] PorkButtsNTaters666 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It wasn't too bad - and I noticed that the Proraso gel to take care of such cuts that I had bought a few years ago had become hard. I guess I should have cut myself ore often 🀣

Nice flex 😊
