From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I see that rogue Google Play Music icon there. Makes me sad they killed it.

What's the one that looks like a purple butt plug with eyes? I've always wondered what that icon is actually for.

I never would’ve thought to describe it like that but yes, it does look like that

Is Lemmy an icon in the pack?

Isn't dev dropped the project?

thx, I am stupid

Not sure “Didn’t the dev dropped that project” sounds quite right either. Figured “Isn’t” was autocorrected from what was supposed to be “Hasn’t”

Not being critical… I’m ADHD so my brain works weird and I’m just bored this morning :)

"Didn't the dev drop that project"

My brain is melty right now but I think that's right.

(How many of us have ADHD on here anyway??)

Probably lots since we all need that constant dopamine drip we get from sites like this.

What's the licensing of this content?

Reading this article, a scenario played out in my head: what if Papirus and other Icon-theme developers stopped making proprietary apps' icons? "you can use any software you want, but you only get a fancy icon if it's FOSS"

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 7 points 9 months ago

I get what your saying but I don't that would do anything

[–] phar@lemmy.ml 6 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

People would stop using their icons

[–] leopold@lemmy.kde.social 3 points 9 months ago

ICQ is still around, seems like it is mainly used by Russians now.
