I have some idea that the devs got DMCA notice from some company and they are trying to shutdown the forks as well. I also read that some extensions won't work or need to be added from unofficial sources. So my question is how to get back to the smooth experience as before with trustworthy extensions and forks. If there is already a post or link to it, do guide me to it.

Do a search for keiyoushi on GitHub

Let me also add that you have to be on the latest version of tachiyomi to add a custom repo like keiyoushi

Basically, the repo for the extensions has been nuked by DMCAs. You can switch to a repo hosted by a third party to bypass it. I'm not gonna link one here because I have not looked deep into who's a good host. But you should be able to find one with some searching.

Tachiyomi also released a statement here.

Here is a guide to a third party extensions repo that was linked in a discussion thread the other day.

I haven't personally done this with my Tachiyomi yet, but have heard from others it has worked well.

If you're interested there's Kotatsu as an alternative which also felt easier to use to me, still, I don't know how all of these projects will fare in the long run when they all rely on GitHub

It looks like it’s still available here?

The project relies on extensions that are installed separately to pull content from different services (mangadex, mangaplus, etc.). The other day, the tachiyomi devs removed almost all the extensions that they were hosting/maintaining after a threat of legal action from a Korean webtoon company. Here is a relevant discussion thread.

Ah, okay. I thought I was going to pull up the site & see the takedown note or something. I didn’t realize they were able to make some changes & keep it around.

Technically it's now supported by 3rd party maintainers while some selfhostet options are 1st party extensions (tachidesk, kotatsu, etc.).

Not my most favorite solution but better than no external extensions at all.
