Why the glasses, dickwad? Just run into walls like god intended for you.

[–] athos77@kbin.social 18 points 10 months ago

I'm just like, "Cool, guess we're doing away with Viagra, too, hunh?"

crickets, I'm sure ....

[–] HenchmanNumber3@lemm.ee 31 points 10 months ago

Subpoena his Viagra prescription.

[–] TellusChaosovich@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago (3 children)

I am in the IVF process right now. I keep proposing to tell every religious person I know that they aren't allowed to hug, kiss, or visit my abomination baby.

[–] Not2Dopey@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Successful IVF parent here: it is a difficult, trying process but the reward is amazing! I tell our child that they were wanted so badly that we had to do some crazy things, but it worked.

Best of luck to you!

[–] TellusChaosovich@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

We didn't get very many fertilized eggs, so odds are we won't get a baby this round. This process is so disappointing at every stage.

[–] SkippingRelax@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Good luck with the ivf!

[–] negativeyoda@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

They won't give a shit about it after it exits the womb anyway

[–] HopeOfTheGunblade@kbin.social 19 points 10 months ago

Your omnipotent god can be defeated by humans with a few tools?

Puny god.

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago

If you don't know: IVF fertilizes an embryo in the lab and implants it into the uterus. Often multiple embryos are implanted in one procedure to ensure at least one is viable. If a plural pregnancy results, the mother can decide to "cull" the excess. (I don't remember the proper term but abort isn't it because you abort a pregnancy not an embryo)

In any case, anti-choice activists believe that all embryos are people. Which is clearly false since they don't have a detectable credit score.

Same argument as People who wear glasses wage war against god.

Disclaimer: I believe people should use science. That's why we were given advance brains.

[–] Dr_Gabriel_Aby@hexbear.net 4 points 10 months ago

god handed him a prescription

Weird that a guy with a disability aid would be against modern healthcare. I know adjusting your eyesight and creating life are different, but they're honestly not that different. Both are just aids for body failures. Plus with stuff like micro plastics possibly affecting fertility, it's not like God is the one making these people less fertile. (Unless the micro plastics are part of God's plan, but if that's true, how come IVF isn't also part of God's plan??)

[–] rainynight65@feddit.de 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

So contraception is bad, but IVF is also bad. Trying to stop yourself getting pregnant is bad. Trying to get pregnant is bad.

Can these drop kicks actually figure out what they want?

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Dudes wearing glasses talking about how other ppl shouldn't use tech to make their lives better.

[–] slurpeesoforion@startrek.website 11 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

I have no want or need for ivf. How might I wage an assault on god?

[–] Daxtron2@startrek.website 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Donate to your local satanic temple chapter

[–] slurpeesoforion@startrek.website 4 points 10 months ago

As far as I know, I am my local TST chapter. I donate to myself constantly.

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 10 points 10 months ago

maybe that god.

my god says ' you're not boutique engineering your kids yet?! '

[–] spaceghoti@lemmy.one 10 points 10 months ago

Pfft. There's no war if the other side never shows up. This battle was over long, long ago. Yahweh forfeited.

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

rat-salute i'd like to formally welcome people who can't have children without medical assistance to the resistance

together, we will kill god

That just makes it sound metal.

[–] BruceTwarzen@kbin.social 3 points 10 months ago

If we are waging a war against god, but nothing happens or changes... What the fuck kinda war is it then. The name is definitely better than the war itself.

[–] PlasterAnalyst@kbin.social 8 points 10 months ago

It's an expensive procedure, so they want to lay the groundwork to be able to exclude it from health insurance by claiming "religion."

[–] knfrmity@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I thought the forced birth movement was about making people have as many babies as possible to feed the insatiable capitalist labour machines. Now apparently there's a right way and a wrong way to provide the human capital?

[–] PullUpCircuit@iusearchlinux.fyi 4 points 10 months ago

Yes! You may only perform sexual acts with the end goal of procreation. You may also only perform procreation in the missionary position.

I have also heard tale that it is better to perform no acts at all, and have heard gloating of being such completely pure.

Ironic coming from someone who was clearly derived in a test tube from Dreher Material

[–] sovietknuckles@hexbear.net 5 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Uncritical support to IVF users in their assault against god

[–] Xariphon@kbin.social 5 points 10 months ago

How do we make this grounds for disqualification?

[–] LotrOrc@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Feel like if this god is so powerful he should be able to handle a little war here and there right?

Or is the Christian god just not as strong/powerful as they want us to believe?

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Nah it's the typical "our enemies are extremely dangerous yet weak and pathetic. Our god is strong and immovable yet fragile and easily lost"

It's a bullshit manipulation tactic that is surprisingly effective

[–] solidgrue@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Even if they are, so what? "God" isn't a thing in secular life.

[–] tamagotchicowboy@hexbear.net 4 points 10 months ago

Not this shit again, they just want another group to hate against for their weird death cult hate fetish

[–] shiveyarbles@beehaw.org 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

My God is a giant dish of pasta

It seems apparent to me that parents who create Oklahoma state senators are waging an assault against god, christian fellowship, jesus, all non-white Americans, and anyone unwise enough to be a native american. Maybe we should stop letting Oklahomophobes gain any access to pulpits or public offices.

[–] fubarx@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

Doesn't IVF involve masturbation, followed by medical implantation? Wonder which part god has a problem with? The first, the second, or both?

Because if it's the first, he may have some issues with his teenage nephews.
