One thing my wife doesn't understand (besides wetshaving) and nearly hates are cover versions of rock and Grunge Classics. I have a weakness for easy listening covers of 90s alternative songs; I somehow have the impression that I can enjoy both the original and what the cover does differently at the same time. For my wife, this seems rather to be like an unwashed lumberjack with muddy boots walking over an expensive Persian carpet.

So, please peruse these songs, enjoy, and tell me how right I am:

  1. Tonight, tonight - I prefer the Smashing Pumpkins original better
  2. Heart shaped box - I like the Amber Mark version better. I never really liked the original, and the cover is good.
  3. Dancing in the dark - Benny is better. Same reason -- I never liked the original version :-)
