were you talking about US prisions?
or do you consider some of the service industry slave labor, which to be fair it is?
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
All posts should follow this basic structure:
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.

The post was about BYD vehicles, but I'm happy to discuss other instances where it's relevant.
This thread has gone completely off the rails. Nobody is discussing whether the ban was deserved and instead there's only insults to the op, or arguments on who's worse USA or China. I'm locking this.
Please stick to judging whether they're mod action was deserved and not rehashing the talking points especially by flaming each other
On one hand, it's ridiculous that campists just can't accept any criticism of their "aes". On the other hand, you don't have to go to the every posts about something positive happening in this hell world to remind that they suck but if you do, I hope you also do the same about positive happenings in the USA and EU or you're just a hypocrite.
Facts are bigotry
There's no facts in deleted post and on my guess there's no bigotry, it mostly looks like trolling or disinformation.
Everyone should know by now that you can't criticize China or Hezbollah, on lemmy.ml.
Or China, Russia, North Korea, or anything else that vaguely labels itself “communist”
Its not about them being labelled communist, all that matters to them is if they are against the west. Cause apparently only the west can be imperialist
Step 1: Declare yourself a (Anarcho-)Communist
Step 2: Declare .ml to be reactionaries
Step 3: ???
Step 4: ~~Profit?~~ Communal Property?
Really want to know what step three is here. I’m pretty good at steps 1 and 2 by now.
Declare them Trotskyists and counterrevolutionary!
Russia is even funnier, given that they don't even do that anymore.
Go ahead, .
Your stance serves the one that owns your platform, either way. (inb4 y'all defed)
Go ahead what?
Post... yer on the Lemmy fediverse, along with me.
Don't use .ml
If you can't criticize the US, Russia, China, Israel, Hamas, Hezbollah, and every major religion (the religion itself, not it's followers), all in one go, you don't have true freedom.
Authority is inherently evil and should be scrutinized, regardless of which "side".
(Btw I don't even interact with .ml except a few like c/privacy, also the c/news in lemmy.world also have obnoxious mods)
By separating the institution from its "faithful", you risk deboning your own argument before it takes its first steps. Religion is an ancient method of control, and those within it are all peddlers of some form of its seed — unwitting, or no.
No one should have to make excuses for Religion's altogether insidious, pervasive, corruptive and vile existence. Kill every god, utterly. There is no heaven, and none of us get out of here alive. 😘
Do you have any source for that "fact?" Like, whatsoever?
I see, thank you. That provides important additional context that we're talking about a company using a shell company to employ people in shitty conditions, which is a valid criticism of international corporations of all countries.
Welp, I can't argue with that. I recall a fellow poster posting on things like this
Just DuckDuckGo "Chinese sweatshops". Lots of reading material. You can even find other countries as well!
Facts about what exactly? That there is slave labor in the world?
Seems you are confusing China and USA.
If it happens in US it's actually a privilege, not forced labor.
Characterizing prison work as forced labor is wrongheaded, he said, because most inmates who qualify for paid work earn that classification based on positive credits for behavior. “In other words, it’s a privilege,” he said, better than some of the other alternatives behind bars.
Probably slave labor both places.
The US has the largest prison population in the world and when measured per capita stands alone as a completely absurd outlier. A country that has legalized slavery if used as punishment for a crime. A country that has private prisons where the prisoners are used to make consumer goods, fight forest fires, and in some cases even work on farms classico style. There's no probably about it at all - the US facilitates enourmous amounts of slave labor and that's not even getting into the resource extraction from the global south that keeps the whole machine running.
Neither Beijing nor Washington, but actually Washington
