JFC! That's a fucking joke. That's like 200 bucks to him.

Ignore the money and look at the conditions of his release. If he so much as farts without offering a written apology he's done.

I'll believe that when he's behind bars. He'll violate those terms before he even makes his way through the parking lot.

Like it would even be enforced.

I hope so. I was angry that he was given bail in the first place. I think he should have been jailed.

Idk, Donny's been pretty strapped lately. Maybe he can't scrape together the cash.

Why doesn't this shit scale with your wealth?

Where I’m from if you’re out on bail or not (and what conditions are attached) is up to the court or the police depending on where you’re currently at in the justice system, you don’t pay anything regardless of your wealth.

I prefer this system as the reasons whether or not someone ought to be bailed don’t really have a lot to do with wealth usually so it seems unfair to make it a factor, but I can certainly see the reasoning to put a number on it as I suspect it does dissuade people breaking their bail conditions.

Jenna Ellis, a lawyer who assisted Mr. Giuliani in his efforts to keep Mr. Trump in power after he lost in 2020, expressed frustration over the looming legal costs a few days after her indictment in the case. “Why isn’t MAGA, Inc. funding everyone’s defense?” she asked last week on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Oh look, a crack in the wall.

The fine is a joke to Trump, but that's not the intresting part of this bond. It's the gag order that the Judge added to this release:

"Under his bond agreement in Georgia, Mr. Trump cannot communicate with any co-defendants in the case except through his lawyers. He was also directed to “make no direct or indirect threat of any nature against the community,” including “posts on social media or reposts of posts made by another individual."

Yeah, he should be in pre-trail detainment by now. But it's disingenuous to look at this bond, only look at the fee, and say it's worthless. I think the gag order has some real value. It's another step towards throwing his ass in pre-trail detainment.
