Vreedom

  • Brush: Semogue Owner's Club (cherry wood and boar) (32)
  • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels Friodur 17 (NOS, 7/8", hollow ground, stainless steel)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co – Varen
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth / Noble Otter / Declaration Grooming – Cerberus FougΓ¨re
  • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux – Weinstrasse

I've been looking forward to using some Varen again for the last few days, and it was as nice as I remember. I went a bit overboard with Cerb Foug and Weinis, but I was in the mood for a loud and lively fougère combo, and that's exactly what I got.

The Frio 17 is a joy to use.

Very nice setup! Getting beyond AA is nice, but now there's the heavy weight of all those choices :)

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar

  • Razor: Kikuboshi R. Saito 6/8" Extra Hollow

  • Lather: TTFFC - The Lake - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Combe Inc. - Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Excellent shave.

New razor, new soap, and new brush.

This Kikuboshi R. Saito arrived in August. I have been looking for one of these in extra hollow for quite a while. The smiling edge is unbelieveably good to shave with. It was quite natural to find which part of the blade to use for different parts of the face. It is a light razor but handles very well.

I received The Lake at the Maggard Meetup earlier this year and it is my first time using it. The TTFFC soap base is very nice, and the scent is a very pleasing aquatic. Goes well with Aqua Velva :)

I ordered the B40 during August because I was envying all of the raw hoggers. I plan to raw hog this brush as much as possible this month.

No Scrub group shave - for those who remember.

This is my first time using a soap from Red House Farms. The scent is pleasant, and the soap was slick. It took loads of water. This soap is advertised as having bear tallow. I have it on good authority that the tallow was obtained from the star of "Cocaine Bear".

Really great shave. Was it because of the soap? My favorite razor with my favorite blade? My stellar technique?! I think it's just because it's no longer August.

That's ok. I don't think anything was ever officially organized.
