As long as they’re deeply concerned.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 33 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Maybe they'll delay the next shipment of weapons by five minutes while they feel that concern.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They’ll probably be so concerned they’ll send them faster.

[–] occhionaut@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

"C-cmon guys, at least dont let anybody see! Guys??"

[–] FrowingFostek@lemmy.world 35 points 3 months ago (3 children)

The real answer is an arms embargo, until Israel is no longer an apartheid state. One state, full rights for all.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Arms embargo is part of it for sure. But more would need to be done. Sanctions, peace keepers, and embargos would be a good first step.

[–] FrowingFostek@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Agreed, anything other than what is currently going on.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Two states, full rights for all in both

[–] BNE@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Israel is a violent settler apartheid. No.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

They wouldn't be if they ensured full (and equal) rights to all its citizens. It's delusional to think the situation would ever go back to that of before 1947

One state, no Jim crow bullshit

[–] LotrOrc@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Ah that's fair I would agree with that but I don't think 99% of Israelis would.

You got us in the first half lol

[–] SpicyLizards@reddthat.com 29 points 3 months ago (1 children)

"Deep concern" is as effective as "thoughts and prayers" when you supply unlimited funds and support to the genociders.

[–] douglasg14b@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Seriously. This is such a shit situation.

The U.S. is between a rock and a hard place with Israel being the only friendly foothold in the Middle East with ports. Which enables a ton of power projection over "things" the U.S. cares about.

But then Israel is now an entity that we don't want to associate with. But we can't just let them shit the bed and allow a multi-state war with nuclear powers to take place either.

The later will hurt the U.S. in tangible ways, for decades to come.

So what do you do? Do you knowingly cause damage the security interests of country, or do you follow the social/societal expectations that we don't just fucking kill innocent civilians and let Israel eat the lunch they made... Indirectly enabling a war which you will get drug into regardless?

Shit sucks, everywhere. And Israel are being the baddies, while the U.S. is enabling it.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 29 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Great, now fucking do something about it. Tots and pears is just as effective here as it is when a school is shot up. Fix it ya fuckwits.

[–] vanontom@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Literally anything. It seems "They've tried (almost) nothing, and they're all out of ideas!" This is such a mind-boggling fuckup from Biden. Probably the biggest of his presidency.

Israel is run by out-of-control extremists and racists (much like T**** regime). Who will justify any killing, because "they're in danger" (also sounds familiar). Biden is seemingly vetoing his own advisors, as Netanyahu continually kills civilians, Israeli hostages, and chance after chance at a ceasefire.

I really hope Harris has a more intelligent approach. It wouldn't take much.

[–] RangerJosie@sffa.community 25 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Obviously not concerned enough to stop it.

[–] APassenger@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Or to stop providing weapons.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

I’m kind of curious as to where Biden will draw the line.

I mean, seriously. Netanyahu has strung him along on the ceasefire and everything else, including lying to Biden’s face, while bombing civilians.

At what point, do you look at the “leash” our aid represents and start yanking?

[–] APassenger@lemmy.world 15 points 3 months ago

Biden won't. He was willing to throw the US to an autocrat for Israel.

He has no discernible line. Or if he does, his priorities are absolutely wonky.

[–] qprimed@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 months ago

all important^1^ parties to this slaughter are in perfect agreement with each other. all of this has been normal and within acceptable parameters.

^1^ non-Palestinians

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago

White House has been deeply concerned for 10 months now... But elephants gestate for 20 months so maybe 10 more months of bloodshed and something will come out of it

[–] wetnoodle@sopuli.xyz 21 points 3 months ago

I'm sure the civilians bombed with American missiles appreciate the white houses concern

[–] Bookmeat@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

Oh, thank goodness they're concerned! I feel better now.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 16 points 3 months ago

So... Thoughts and prayers is a bipartisan thing

[–] aaaaace@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Deeply concerned about weapons sales.

[–] Mrkawfee@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Fuck them. Every death is on them.

[–] h3mlocke@lemm.ee 11 points 3 months ago

Yeah they seem "deeply concerned"

[–] b161@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 months ago

“Terror operatives”, or in other words Palestinian children. Everyone is “Hamas” according to Israel.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Another AIPAC slaughter. AIPAC is threatening to dump tens of millions into ads for Trump in swing states leading into the election if we don't send weapons.

If we can pull ahead enough to minimize that threat, then I suspect White House policy will suddenly change. Biden/Harris need to just pull that trigger now. It's insane that we let money dictate our foreign policy.

We need to get money out of politics. Especially foreign money. Also, fuck every AIPAC operative. Their carcasses need to be piled into a dumpster and lit on fire.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Who are the terror operatives please because I am confused

[–] count_dongulus@lemmy.world -1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Only slightly related: Why don't Hamas fighters wear a colored rag to distinguish combatants?

[–] Don_Dickle@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They do their color is green you can see it when hamas mass demonstrates.
