It's more than that, this time. It's a political establishment scared to punish anyone who is in politics because they're afraid if they actually put down Trump's crimes, they'll have to admit to similar crimes themselves, and face similar charges.

It's not simply his (exaggerated) money, it's the fact that he's a former President. Obama let Bush off the hook for being a war criminal and literally set the stage for this because our political establishment is filled with giant pussies who refuse to dole out punishment lest it be doled out to them, too. Maybe if we had sent Bush and Cheney to Geneva for war crimes to end their lives like Saddam Hussein, we might not be in this dumb fucking shitshow.
