Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

You’re so certain you did absolutely nothing wrong, but that requires you to understand the community rules and be certain you didn’t violate them. But you admit you not only aren’t a member but don’t give a shit about the community.
Do you really not see how this comes across?
Can you show me one community on all of Lemmy in which it's rule says you cannot criticize the source of a post? Also I don't know why you think I'm incapable of checking the rules of a community, extremely insulting for no reason whatsoever. If you're so positive I did something wrong you're free to prove it. You can go back and look it up.
Do you not see how you're coming across though? You say you're not pretending that there isn't a massive moderation problem on world and here you are tying yourself in knots when people tell you of massive moderation problems on the world.
We are way off in the theoretical right now and you are asking me to defend a point I didn’t make.
You said all you did was criticize an article. You have given no other context other than 1) you weren’t a part of the community and 2) you don’t give a shit about the community. Now you’re off talking about theoretical nonsense.
I am responding to what you wrote. This is your story, it’s supposed to be favorable toward you and frankly it isn’t. You don’t owe me an explanation but if you’re going to defend yourself you’re going to have to do better than strawmen and sounding disrespectful towards a community you allegedly did nothing wrong in.
Disrespectful to a community you serious? And no other context? I told you it was a New York Post article. If you need more context than that then I can't help you. You are just not a serious person.
You have backed yourself into an impossible situation to defend. That's why you're resorting to personal attack and hostility here. There's entire communities, which apparently you don't respect I guess, dedicated to mod abuse in World in particular. Yet you seem to think it's impossible for a mod to be unreasonable. As I've said before if you'd like to show me how my comments were unreasonable you may do so.
