Well yeah, they are a company, I have never thought of them as a friend.
I would like it if they released an annual "Firefox Pro" version, the only difference would be that Pro version would be branded as "Firefox Pro" and a badge in the about dialog.
You would pay €20 for it, and Mozilla could rely less on ads, and focus more on privacy.
Why not just a donation?
Why not get rewarded for it as well?
yeah ok. It's not like nobody rewards donators
Really? What does Mozilla do?
I genuinely have no idea
wdym? we were discussing donations. no?
if you are back on the privacy topic, let's just say they aren't as privacy-friendly as they say they are. I wouldn't be using anything firefox-based browsers if other usable alternatives existed. their sandboxing is pretty bad on android. which is also why, for example, grapheneOS ships vanadium, which is a chromium based browser.
You just claimed that donations are already rewarded, I am asking how.
no no, there seems to be a misunderstanding.
I said:
I referred to others like FSF that reward users by giving them something. For example, Signal gives badges in their app.
Ok, so Mozilla does nothing?
Then why is my idea bad?
I just personally don't like it.
Ok, that is fine, you don't have to like it.
It is just an idea from a guy who is not even on the same continent as Mozilla HQ is
