Socialists were douchebags to the liberals because they didn't take the threat of fascism seriously while the liberals faded into irrelevance and had no other option than to try team up with the fascists to try to convince them to be less fascist. It didn't go so hot, and the socialists ended up in concentration camps. How's that? We don't have to worry about that so much here, because their are no socialists relevant enough to matter in national politics.
