It’s a war that’s been going on twice as long as I’ve been alive, on a continent I’ve never been to, on the other side of the planet. I’m not, nor will ever be capable of understanding.
I’m not sure I’d want to, to what end? I missed a day of work this week. Overslept through an alarm. What is required out of me as a dumb American – that’s barely treading water as is?

Care about your fellow human beings...
Yeah, care about the entirety of the human race while I can’t even remember my neighbors name more than half the time. That’s improbable.
