Brush: Brad Sears Arley 26mm Super Badger
Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK 31 11/16 Celluloid Full Hollow
Lather: PannaCrema - Nuàvia Nera - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Lavender - Toner
Aftershave: PannaCrema - Nuàvia Nera - Balm
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Wonderful shave today, and it was a test shave for a new edge on this Heljestrand. I did make a video of this one too, because this razor is moving on to a new owner.
I find these PannaCrema soaps have very refreshing scents, and I enjoy the lightness of the soap base.
That's the razor you have a fancier similar version of, right?
Yes, that's right. The other one is a Söderfors Extra Specialstål. It is older and has an extra hollow grind (I think). I bought it off of eBay and it had geometry issues (probably why the seller dumped it). In fixing the geometry, I also lowered the bevel angle slightly. The combination of bevel angle and grind make that MK No. 31 very special.
Plus that extra specialstål 🙂
It is different. Takes an amazing edge, but I don't want to go overboard about that. The standard MK No. 31 is not a slouch by any means.
