Probably not worth it, then. In the US they don't sell anything online, I'm not sure about your neck of the woods. You can get it on eBay probably, but the price will be quite a bit higher I imagine.

Edit: I just checked USA eBay and there's none to be found. I wonder if they even still sell it!

  • Brush: Zenith B03-A26 (B2)
  • Razor: Gillette Tech (Z-4)
  • Blade: V12 Super Platinum (3)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen - Soap
  • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: allMan - Refined - Balm
  • Fragrance: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen - EdT

I really should grab this brush more often. Zenith's famously break in very quickly, but I have a feeling this one will still get better with time despite the fact I've had it for 2+ years. The handle is perfect. It's big, but very comfortable.

If you have Lidl near you, their branded aftershaves are very affordable, have great ingredients, and there are a couple of scents to choose from last time I checked (which is admittedly 2+ years ago).

In the USA they're sold as allMan, and in Europe they're Cien Men.

The scents are:

Fearless (Aqua in Europe) - A fresh type of scent. I'm not sure what it's a dupe of, but it smells good. I'm not sure if it's my favorite of the two, but it smells stronger than the other option which is:

Defiance (X-Bolt in Europe) - A mellow sort of scent said to be a dupe of Boss Bottled.

I think both scents are good, and I've used both at work, although I think Defiance/X-Bolt is more suitable since it doesn't cut through as much.

  • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Gillette Tech (Z-4)
  • Blade: V12 Super Platinum (2)
  • Lather: Viking Shaving Soap - Norway - Soap
  • Post Shave: Old Spice - Hawkridge - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Harry's - Aftershave Balm
  • Fragrance: Barrister & Mann - Lavender, Interrupted - EdP

I wonder if I reached for this soap knowing it lathers similarly to the soap I used yesterday. Load dry, add water sparingly, and it works great. Norway is interesting enough to keep around, and it's the only soap I have which prominently features Clove.

Yes, I'll need addresses from just about everyone.

What's the timing of this again? There's about 1.5 months to go, right?

Wow, just because of all the metal dust?

Say, what would you think about hiding the Straight Razor community and taking all the action to the main Wetshaving community? There are 7x as many subscribers, and since we're so small anyway I wonder if it makes sense to have different communities for different niches.

  • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Gillette Tech (Z-4)
  • Blade: V12 Super Platinum (1)
  • Lather: WSP - Black Amber Vanille - Soap
  • Post Shave: Summer Break Soaps - Woodshop - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Nivea Sensitive Balm

Incredible shave. I think I finally cracked the code on this soap. I used to think it was garbage - difficult to lather, bubbly and no protection no matter how much soap I loaded, but now I know how to do it. Start with a barely damp brush - really dry relatively - and load a bunch of soap. It'll be super dry looking proto-lather, different than anything else I own. If you start with that really dry stuff, then the resulting lather is much more dense and offers a good shave. This scent is great which makes it worth fiddling around with.

These V12 blades are super smooth. They're worth trying. I also recommend trying Zorrik.

That's how https://old.wetshaving.social is set up (single instance).

I'm going to keep brainstorming some url ideas, then all we have to do is make @djundjilla@sub.wetshaving.social create the domain.

Would you find any benefit to us hosting an Alexandrite front end?

What do you think a good URL for it would be? (for example x.wetshaving.social).

Yeah, at the time I only heard that this zing version didn't smell right to people who had smelled the OG.

I'll probably pick one up in a couple years if it comes back again again.
