i use 5 different mail addresses at once, some of them are encrypted using PGP, some are not.
I have individual signatures, sometimes several per mail account.
I can preset mails offline, don't have to rely on five different web interfaces and can connect a central address book and calendar to all accounts.

I use thunderbird.

Original Aleppo soap. Need about 3-4 pieces of it per year, they are odorless, or at least smell only slightly earthy.
Price here 4-6 euros per piece.
I use them for the face and my (arm-length) hair.

we know what happened over there recently

hmm, at least not me. Do you have a link?

What speaks for you against uploading your content there? When users start using platforms and others realize that they work well, they will follow their example. I think that's more effective than making a call to use a platform.

That would absolutely help, finding communities is still very fiddly.

In my opinion, it would be best to search in the following order:

  • Title of the community
  • Description of the community
  • Topics within the community with the keywords

An example would be the following listing for the keyword "film"

| Result for "film" | type | |

|

| | filmmakers | community | | analog film | community | | film shooters | community | | film recommendations?| community | | movie recommendations | description | | shoot analog | description | | TV | description | | TIL | comments | | Arts | comments | | something about how you spend your day | comments |

Other than that is there any obvious downside to doing that?

You must be able to administrate and pay for a server.
Apart from that, it would not be nice to participate in the network and use the computing capacity of others, but not bring any infrastructure into the network yourself (by registration lock).

Oh damn! I'm in my no-buy month. But stalker was my favorite game so far. Maybe I'll make an exception....maybe....
