California is cool, I just don't like LA. It's dirty, crowded, has traffic 24/7, and everything is expensive just to name a few reasons.

I think they spend a lot of their time holding back a wall of crap from falling on all of us. Unmoderated forums are so bad.

I can't even find RIF on the app store anymore, did they take it down?

Ahhh, I'm not sure if I should let that addiction back in!

I feel the same way. It was weird breaking the habit of clicking the RiF app when I unlock my screen, but after a while the need just went away.

I slowed down when the announcement was made about third party apps. I quit entirely when RIF turned off. Now I participate here, started my own community, contribute to others as much as I can, and finally figured out how to host my own instance. It's been fun seeing it grow slowly.

All cargo shorts all the time. And cargo shirts, cargo socks, cargo shoes, cargo boxers.

I use the Feeder Android app, it's simple and easy to get set up.

I've heard the Expanse books are great, I watched the Amazon series already. Are the books even better?

I really enjoyed The Hyperion Cantos, and the first few Dune books I read a long time ago (may reread these now). Can anyone recommend some other books (or series) along these lines? Huge stories on an epic scale, space battles, cool future tech, etc.

I started getting into Lemmy with the reddit API announcement like many others. if the RIF app shuts down I'm never going back, and even if it manages to stick around I probably will be done with reddit. I've committed to Lemmy at this point, I'm trying to build a pathfinder RPG community here, and I've been contributing to many other communities where I can.
