Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but with the amount he seems to have declined in the last few years both physically and mentally, I can't imagine he will be capable in any capacity of running again.

I don't know. I mean, they definitely hate each other, but there is also nothing Republicans do better than falling in line when it matters.

While I generally agree with you, this case is literally an example of how the public's outrage DOES matter and potentially changed the course of this case, regardless of the legality.
Most of the time it's not as egregious as trying to use a free trial for streaming to force arbitration for wrongful death at an amusement park. I truly can't imagine any world where this doesn't blow up because it's so outrageous.
I'm just confused how anyone thought this was a good idea to begin with. Surely the strong public backlash could have been easily anticipated.

Why are you being so needlessly judgy? Maybe they have more money coming that will allow them to comfortably pay the electric bill by the time it comes. Maybe they wanted a special meal and buying & slow cooking the pork is how they budgeted their money. We have no idea about OP's circumstances and frankly, it sucks that you felt the need to comment on how they're doing everything wrong. They were excited about their ingenuity in the face of difficult circumstances and just trying to share something they were proud of with the community.
(Btw, I was curious so I did some googling and using this guy's sample numbers, a 36 hr cook would use around $0.60usd in electricity. So changing cooking methods is not really an effective way here to save money.)

Yeah, it's pretty hard to wrap your head around, especially hearing she was neck-deep by the time he got to her. I'm guessing she didn't feel physically capable of making it onto the roof and worried if she climbed out of the car's interior she'd get swept away faster.
