For an demonstration of what that means today look at Egypt, which isn't socialist but has many of the same problems due to the military's encroachment on the market

being stuck in the same country as sisi is purgatory

That's what the meme was saying, i agree.

Despite Hamas and Azov being in similar situations (PS: Fuck them both but not all of resistance in those countries are just them) tankies are pretty suspicious in only supporting one. It's almost as if they're biased and not being true with their intentions.

I think you're confusing anti-NATO sentiment with pro-putin sentiment

There wouldn't need to be pro-NATO shit if Russia didn't invade an entire fucking country, what are they talking about

They same the exact same shit with Syria, that Bashaar is the lesser evil despite gassing his own people and running concentration camps. Fuck them all, they're no better than fascists.

[–] fxomt@lemm.ee 4 points 1 hour ago (3 children)

Related. Fuck them all but some people sure like to pick and choose.

[–] fxomt@lemm.ee 3 points 15 hours ago

Yeah :/ in some instances it is, but it's usually broken.

I especially wish i could actually interact with those videos from my account, such as liking or commenting. There are three types of instances: no sign ups, outdated or no content on them.

Or in other words: the mentality of a child.

Welfare fascists like to act tough on the internet. The real spook is if one of those morons tried to actually act out their insane beliefs. Imagine if one of them actually commits a shooting because of their belief that people are responsible for their governments actions?

Jesus christ, what the fuck

thanks for the context btw

That reply to it is actually fucking insane. These people never cared about us arabs, they just want their side to win. Actual fascists, not even in red anymore.

Better federation. The vidiverse search is just bad, i want to watch all types of content from my account.

And more general instances; i'm on spectra.video now, but as i said the vidiverse search sucks and it's not federated to enough instances :/

It's worth noting that these raids and arrests are warrantless which is in violation of the Constitution.

Boy, this constitution is being broken all the time. Almost as it's just a suggestion...

People are getting too comfortable with the idea of ripping someone out of their country because they have the wrong skin color/dont have documents saying they're a part of that country... even if they're from a war torn country or face persecution.

I'm generally just kind of turned off by US politics in general, and that's why i subscribe to this community. !politics@lemmy.world or !news@lemmy.world are probably better for this.

But i do agree with you, this is relevant. Just barely constitutes it imo

!privacy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

After the original mod being inactive for so long, i've asked the db0 mods for me to take this community. So, welcome back!

Rules

This includes the instance rules of dbzer0, which can be tl;dr'd to: no right wing nutjobs or tankies are allowed. As for the community rules:

  1. Be nice
  2. No bigotry/prejudice
  3. No tankies/right wingers
  4. Don't promote proprietary software
  5. Stay on topic
  6. No crypto
  7. Don't be a smartass and try to game the system, we'll know if you're breaking the rules when we see it!
  8. If you post news exclusive to a country please name it. (This isn't a bannable rule, but just a recommendation :) )

Why not:

Lemmy.ml

.ml is infamous for banning pretty much anyone they please. This community, while left libertarian, will allow conflicting viewpoints.

Lemmy.world

.world is too big, and has centralized a decentralized community. It simply does not fit, and is a net negative for the fediverse as a whole.

It also blocks VPNs, which goes against the essence of a privacy community.

Why dbzer0

Dbzer0 is stable, relaxed with the rules, and perfect for a topic like this.

Salvete omnes! fxomtus sum. Haec communitas de lingua Latina in lemmy est.

A general place, from memes, questions, personal stories, jokes; As long as it's about Latin!

I created this community after noticing the lack of Latin speakers on Lemmy (and linguistics communities in general) I don't want it to just be for Latin speakers, I also want it to help beginners. That's why I've started creating a Latin guide for the community, a collection of resources and tips to help learn Latin.

A couple of days ago i noticed something off with blahaj.zone. I couldn't see images posted by users on blahaj, so i thought it was a problem on their side.

Well guess fucking what? After 3 days, it was STILL broken, so i opened it and...

Blocked. They fucking blocked blahaj.zone. Actually beyond parody🤦‍♂️ Why? What was the point? there's trans content literally everywhere on lemmy. what's next, block them all? So now if i want to see a post by a user on blahaj, i have to turn on my VPN (protonvpn.com is also blocked in saudi, jfc) just to see it. Fuck this place. 🙄

I swear a couple of days ago it worked. This is a mild annoyance (hence the community) but still.

It's so over guys, MBS said no more 196 😔

I don't know if this is a good community to post to, but it's a cool game and i want to share it somewhere.

I think i heard about this game in a conlang group. I recently played the demo, and it was amazing. The game's idea is pretty novel too. You decipher a logographic language based on context and clues, and you have to manually decipher the words meaning, too; so you could translate it wrong. in the "ME ME TOWER GO PRAISE" box, i'm not sure if the PRAISE hieroglyph is actually correct. I love linguistics, and to see a game made around it is awesome.

A devotee saying "ME ME TOWER GO PRAISE" The guard's have their own language!

A main road in the provincial capital of Quneitra in southern Syria was blocked with mounds of dirt, fallen palm trees and a metal pole that appeared to have once been a traffic light. On the other side of the barriers, an Israeli tank could be seen maneuvering in the middle of the street.

Israeli forces entered the area — which lies in a U.N.-patrolled buffer zone in the Golan Heights that was established by a 1974 ceasefire agreement between Syria and Israel — soon after the fall of President Bashar Assad last month in the country’s 13-year civil war.

Residents of Quneitra, a seemingly serene bucolic expanse of small villages and olive groves, said they are frustrated, both by the Israeli advances and by the lack of action from Syria’s new authorities and the international community.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Syria's new leadership is determined to root out separatists there, as Ankara said its military had "neutralised" 32 members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, in the country.

A rebellion by groups close to Turkey ousted Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad last month. Since then, Turkey-backed Syrian forces have occasionally clashed in the north with U.S-backed Kurdish forces that Ankara deems terrorists.

"With the revolution in Syria... the hopes of the separatist terrorist organization hit a wall," Erdogan told his party's provincial congress in Trabzon.

The foreign ministers of Germany and France said they wanted to forge a new relationship with Syria and urged a peaceful transition as they visited Damascus on Friday meet its de facto new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa on behalf of the European Union.

Germany's Annalena Baerbock and France's Jean-Noel Barrot are the first ministers from the EU to visit Syria since rebels seized control of Damascus on Dec. 8 and forced President Bashar al-Assad to flee after more than 13 years of civil war, ending his family's decades-long rule.

"My trip today...is a clear signal to the Syrians: A new political beginning between Europe and Syria, between Germany and Syria, is possible," German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said before she left for Damascus.

There is more, but the post would be too big to fit everything.
