It's a bug that was introduced in 0.27.4. If we're all seeing then it must be pretty common.

I quit Reddit when they killed third party apps, I quit Twitter when Musk bought it.

Whether it's a good replacement for someone depends on what they're looking for, there's no answer that applies to everyone. And given that Reddit is such a cesspool, lots of things could qualify as better.
