I’m sure the next country the US wants to proxy into oblivion will learn from Ukraine, right?

That would be Taiwan, possibly alongside Korea and Japan, right?

Last I knew, Rojava was working the the Syrian government. They're quite aware that if they had their own state, Turkey would invade and genocide them. Not that Turkey hasn't been bombing them in Syrian territory anyway.

What kind of headline is that?

Did he also deny beating his wife and kicking puppies?

Nowhere in the article does it say who is alleging the guy was a Hamas leader in Lebanon.

Everyone in Europe killing each other every generation predates capitalism. Capitalism did increase the scale though; after the fall of the western roman empire, we didn't see armies of that size until Napoleon managed to draft a million men in a country of 30 million.

While that is the excuse he will use, the justification comes after, he's going to slaughter thousands of civilians either way.

How else do you stop psychopaths who just leveled 6 apartment towers in the heart of Beirut if not with violence?

He was targeted by the most powerful groups in society, immigrants.

One day, this country's most marginalized group, police, will rise up, and get the boot of homeless people off their necks.

Does whether or not Ukraine can win affect the calculus for the Biden admin in any way? Politicians on both sides have described the war as a way of killing Russians without spending a single drop of American blood, and every bomb sent justifies/enables more campaign donations.

The only thing that would be problematic for them would be a quick victory or loss.

Yes, I'm criticizing the AP for not mentioning the man's innocence or lack of evidence and non-recanted witness statements.

Looks like it's having a measurable effect.

Among other changes to immigration law, the measure would make it more difficult to gain asylum in the United States and increase detentions and deportations of those crossing into the country without authorization. It would also effectively close the border altogether if the average number of migrants encountered by immigration officials exceeded a certain threshold — an average of 5,000 over the course of a week or 8,500 on any given day. The bill also would give the president power to close the border unilaterally if migrant encounters reach an average of 4,000 per day over a week.
