I have a G-Bar. I think I've used it maybe twice. I don't think I understand how to use it as I've not enjoyed either of the shaves I've done. Have any tips for me?

November 27, 2024

  • Brush: Maggard Purple Swirl - 24mm - Synthetic
  • Razor: Blackland - Stainless Blackbird
  • Blade: Personna 74 (1)
  • Lather: Proraso Shaving Cream Tube - Sandalwood
  • Aftershave: Declaration Grooming - Daemon
  • Fragrance: Declaration Grooming - Daemon

Super fast shave before the pie social at Church tonight. Tomorrow I'll give myself a good luxurious three pass shave with a carefully prepared lather. Today I just had to rip the hair off my face in short order.

I just wish the handle was nicer… so I transplanted my knot after AA 2023

Saturday Night.

  • Razor: Razorock - Game Changer .84
  • Brush: Omega Pro-48 - Custom Handle Boar Brush
  • Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
  • Lather: Barrister's Reserve - Fern
  • Post: Lucky Tiger - Aftershave & Face Tonic

This was a late evening shave. I had yet again gotten to the point the scruff on my throat was irritating me to the point I wouldn't be able to sleep. I am constantly amazed at how well the budget friendly Omega Pro-48 Boar brush lathers. The Barrister's Reserve Fern isn't a soap I use often, but for late night shaves I tend to grab something pretty neutral smelling as to avoid angering my wife.

It's been kind of a wild year.

Excellent, the plugin now fires as expected. I'll give it a shot for tomorrow's SOTD post. Thanks!

I didn't think about going and looking for your dotfiles, I'm sure I would have found this had I looked. :)

  • Brush: Omega Pro-48 28mm Boar - custom handle
  • Razor: Geneva Cutlery - Vintage Straight Razor
  • Blade: 9/16
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts - Grave Fruit II
  • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Grave Fruit II Splash
  • Fragrance: Southern Witchcrafts - Grave Fruit II

This was my first open blade shave in over a year. I'm honestly surprised I'm not bleeding right now. All in all it was an awkward shave, but the products worked exactly as they should have. My technique leaves a lot to be desired.

Lazy doesn't appear to be loading the plugin, although it's installed. Perhaps I'm doing something daft?

I'm making some progress on setting up my den.json

I blind purchased mine at SMS's suggestion, and don't regret it at all. I borrowed a Blackland Blackbird after AA 2023 and knew I had to have one. I've shaved with virtually nothing else since. The GC is different, and I'm glad I used it again.

I hadn't shaved for maybe 2 or 3 weeks. The scruff under my chin was actually starting to irritate me to the point I was having a hard time falling asleep. So I put a fresh blade in the Game Changer and in two passes feel like a new man. This is my first shave using something other than my Stainless Blackland Blackbird in a hell of a long time. The GC really does punch well above it's weight.

It looks like there are several libraries available to interact with the Lemmy API.

Do we have access to the bots used for moderation on Discord? Which Languages are they written in?

Do y'all want help porting them to Lemmy?
