Yes. Is this your first time looking into how the Nobel Prize tends to be awarded?

Gee, I wonder what could’ve possibly happened between 1993 and 2024 that caused a massive surge in messenger RNA vaccine research and development which in turn renewed interest in micro rna alternatives making its pioneers important scientific figures…. 🤔

State-owned news outlet Gazeta(dot)ru reported that the Ukrainian-linked hacker group “sudo rm -RF” was behind the attack.

“Your honor these companies won’t give me money despite the fact that I want it!”

Did you ask them politely and provide a service worth advertising on?

“I told them to go fuck themselves and banned everyone that was mean to the neo-nazis.”

???

You misread my comment. I said "just" as in "simply" not "recently." Words can have multiple meanings and uses. My point was that this is not an abrupt decision and has been in the works for quite a while because of the war, but it was not based on a decision "specifically tied to a recent development" in said war because it had been announced months ago in June when Belarus got kicked out. They just/simply have been waiting for the contracts of both groups of scientists to expire before sending them home for quite some time.

I recall this being announced earlier in the year, and it's the result of current (5yr) contracts expiring and not specifically tied to a recent development in the war or anything like that. CERN just decided not to renew contracts with Russian scientists who are solely affiliated with Russian institutes but had to wait for them to run out, and as the article points out, this already happened to scientists from Belarus back in June.

All 10 of us here stand united on this most exquisite and elevated of horses!

It’s like, this isn’t really a successful venture, right? We’re not really thriving like we were in the past, are we? We’re likely never going to get anything like that back either, huh

It's always the people with 0 post submissions complaining about this. It's always someone else's responsibility to create communities and find the content to fill them and it’s never enough. Just imagine how much more active the Lemmy side of the Fediverse would be if everyone submitted one article, meme, video, or podcast, etc. a day in some niche community of their choosing. But hey, I guess shitting on the opportunity we have to start fresh is a lot easier than committing to contribute to the slow but organic growth of another news aggregate.

At this point, refusing to fact-check a debate is just a tacit admission that you want to help the GOP. After all, JD Vance is on record saying he has no problem lying and making up things if he thinks it's politically advantageous. Tim Walz shouldn't have to cut into his time correcting the lies of an established liar. Why have journalists involved at all? Seems like it'd be cheaper to hire some bozo off the street to read the questions and only enforce time limits on the Democrat. You don't need Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan to accomplish that.

Yep, that's what I said.

I think whoever buys infowars(dot)com should donate it to Dan and Jordan of the Knowledge Fight Podcast. That would be the perfect way to end things.

"Being the first openly queer women's champion is incredible," Glenn said. "When I came out originally, I was terrified and I was scared it would affect my scores or something, but I didn't care. It was worth it to see, over the last couple of years, the amount of young people that feel more comfortable in their environments at the rink."

"I found a phone sitting on the side of the road that had apparently fallen 16,000 feet," Bates said in a video recorded for social media Sunday.

He said he was "a little skeptical" when he first found it, thinking perhaps it may have been tossed out of a passing vehicle. But the phone wasn't locked, so he opened it up, he said.

"It was in airplane mode with a travel confirmation and baggage claim for Alaska 1282," Bates said. "So, I had to go call the NTSB."
