Yes, but Alex Jones has the media literacy of a bowl of mashed potatoes. He picks and chooses what he likes from movies and tv shows to shape his conspiracy theories and ignores the rest. It’s a point that’s discussed often on the Knowledge Fight podcast. (Which is devoted to debunking infowars) He’s constantly missing the point of the media he claims to love.

The judge didn't "side" with him. It was a matter of procedure and as I said, it will go nowhere. It's just yet another stalling tactic and continued harassment from Alex Jones.

That reminds me, Alex Jones talks about Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke a lot, in fact, his belief that aliens are demons is plagiarized from it. But the funny thing is, there's a searchable archive of transcripts for all his shows. And if you search for "Childhood's End", the first time he ever mentioned it was a week after the SyFy channel aired their three-part miniseries in 2015. So he's clearly never actually read the novel, despite regularly talking about how much he loves it.

And it’s going to go nowhere. This is just the latest in Alex’s decade+ campaign of harassment against these people.

There was nothing wrong let alone illegal about the auction or the circumstances of The Onion’s win. He’s just butthurt that his little scheme to have Elon and Roger Stone buy infowars and give it back to him didn’t work.

Just wait until you see what Trump does for Palestine, boy are you in for a rude awakening. Congrats on sticking it to the democrats, I guess. Enjoy the next four years.

I'd be a lot happier if Mastodon were seeing 1 million new users a day right now, but I'll take what I can get. Any dent in Twitter's user base is good. Here's hoping that experiencing "the Fediverse with training wheels" over at Bluesky will lead to people moving to Mastodon sooner rather than later.

Well deserved. Betty White was an immense talent and a wonderful human being. She was a true ally against bigotry.

In 1954, as The Betty White Show became national across the United States, White was criticized by many in the Southern states for having Arthur Duncan, a Black tap dancer, on her variety show and was asked to remove him. In the 2018 documentary Betty White: First Lady of Television, White recalled threats to take the show off-air "if we didn't get rid of Arthur, because he was Black." She refused, saying "he stays, live with it".

Also:

A supporter and advocate of LGBT rights, White said in 2010, "If a couple has been together all that time – and there are gay relationships that are more solid than some heterosexual ones – I think it's fine if they want to get married. I don't know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don't worry about other people so much." In a 2011 interview, she revealed that she always knew her close friend Liberace was gay and that she sometimes accompanied him to premieres to help him hide it.
