Yeah, being able to use Lemmy from Mastodon is great in theory but it's terrible in practice. I've been using Mastodon since 2019 but wouldn't waste my time trying to use Lemmy with that account. The experience just sucks for mastodon users and lemmy users alike. Fortunately, I've somehow managed to figure out how to juggle two separate accounts lol.

Tornetta also turned up in videos drumming at the legendary former New York club CBGB with his now-defunct metal band "Dawn of Correction", which described its sound as "a swift kick to the face with a steel-toed work boot."

"I was in a band for seven years. It was a death metal band. People either loved us or they hated us. Or they thought we were okay. A lot of bands have intense names, like "Rigor Mortis" or "Mortuary". We weren't that intense—we called ourselves "Injured". Later on we changed it to "Acapella" when we were walking out of the pawn shop." - Mitch Hedberg

Dear [x,y,z] snowflakes

I like it when people let you know right off the bat that they're a shitty person who's about to say something stupid.

"It's just a job, Michael. How long could it possibly take to find a new one? Ten minutes?"

His novel is hilariously bad. The Behind the Bastards podcast has done several episodes where they go through it and mock the shit out of his obvious self-insert character who’s not only 6’5” but he’s the toughest, coolest guy who ever lived.

Remember how Ben Shapiro saw Barbie like six times over the summer to prove how feminist and woke movies are box office poison…. Or something equally stupid?

This guy is the prototypical cringey right wing loser.

Well, no answer that these guys want to hear.

Spot on, this applies to so many other paranormal events too. Some people refuse to believe that their favorite “mysteries” were never really all that mysterious to begin with. Nor are they willing to accept explanations they view as being too mundane. At a certain point they’ve sunk so much time and become too emotionally invested in the legend to accept anything but the most wild and grand explanations.

Dyatlov Pass is a great example of this. The avalanche theory was always the most likely explanation but without question the least exotic. But it also applies to things like the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film, the 1934 Loch Ness monster photo, the Amityville/DeFeo murders, and conspiracy theories surrounding damn near every modern political assassination since Lincoln.

Yeah I'm just getting warmed up. Maybe I'll break out a Chuck Testa reference later!

An Australian pelican named Nigel helped find Nemo.

He was a god damn Aussie legend.

It’s been invite-only for all five and a half years I’ve been there so I wouldn’t expect that to ever change. Fortunately it’s really easy to get an invite code. Just post in the official subreddit and the mods or another user will give you a code. It’s just enough of a minor roadblock that it helps filter out bad actors.

Personally I prefer Lemmy. But if you’re like OP and looking for conversation focused alternatives tildes is worth joining.
