I mean, they are literally clickbait. They want you to wonder what the best part of Alan Wake is or what the best soullike of 2023 is. It's just an evolution of clickbait, but it's still very much clickbait.

A lot of these conferences have contracts with conference venues that kinda locks them in for hosting the conference at that location multiple years in a row.

Explore and be curious. Have you visited every planet? Have you been using the ship logs when you're not sure what to do next?

The game is 100% about exploring and learning about the world.

I mean, it's the main mechanic of the game, and happens in the first 22 minutes of the game. I would not describe that as a "major spoiler" but it is neat when it just happens suddenly.

Why are we posting news from 2019? How did this get this upvoted and nobody noticed? I get that this sucks and the rich people in this situation are garbage, but this does nothing but stoke rage. There are plenty of examples of rich people being garbage in 2023.

TIL Lemmy hates dogs?

My office allowed dogs, and the dog was always super chill and never made a sound. Honestly it sounds dumb, but it's good when I see a dog. It makes me happy.

Obviously a poorly behaved dog would suck. I feel like it's implied that bringing a dog into work means that the dog has to be well behaved.

Real question... Why is this kind of thing posted to World News? It's a horrifying story, but it's also one incident in one location. Me knowing about it doesn't help me or anyone else in any way. I guess you could hope that it inspires some gun owners to better secure their firearms, but that's about it.

This kinda one-off incidents were all over Reddit. It just exists to stoke people's anger most of the time, but it's also super easy to push a specific agenda by posting these horrible, local stories.

That's totally fair. I've only really played up to about level 4 or 5 of some adversaries. The "we're gonna win for sure in a few turns" happens less on higher difficulty, but it did still happen. The events deck helps by being another unpredictable element that can hurt your plans.

The only real negative points that Spirit Island gets from me is that it can be a bit anticlimactic. This is true for a lot of coop games, but it seems like we always know about 2-3 turns in advance that we're gonna win. Then you're just kinda going through the motions. The events expansion helps a bit here but doesn't solve it entirely.

It's still definitely my favorite coop for sure.

The sages were SO obnoxious. They were generally constantly in the way when you didn't want them to be there (picking up stuff) and when you actually want to use them in combat, it seemed like they actively ran away from you. I'd deactivate them only to immediately need them to clear out stuff. Easily the worst part of the game.
