Again, that’s your opinion, mine is that’s the teams are walking advertisements as is every jersey that is bought by a fan.

That’s your opinion and you’re more than entitled to it. My opinion is that having a logo on your jersey is much cooler than having the name of an airline or some other megacorp on it.

What makes you happy besides being inside? What nerdy things specifically? I like history, I would dig into all types of history stuff and eventually started going to a small local history group, that group introduced me to a degree program for historic building preservation, and that’s now how I makes a living, fixing and preserving historic buildings.

I’m not saying you need to change who you are or find a group of strangers. I’m just saying, focus on what makes you happy, the things that get you excited and try to use those as possible outlets. You’d be surprised how many people just like you are out there, I was one of those people. The thing is, you don’t hear about them because most of them are happy in their self made isolation, that’s ok too.

The difference is that you said you haven’t been happy in a decade. So are you really happy in your room or are you just comfortable there? If you’re not happy but comfortable, you might need to get uncomfortable to find that happiness because it sounds like your current solace in your room isn’t bringing any of it. It’s up to you though, I don’t want you to change, just find what makes you happy and put your energy towards that. If that seems like an impossible task then it’s very possible you’re depressed and you may need to seek some help that’s above the pay grade of most of us here on Lemmy.

I am not a psychologist, these are just my experiences and opinions. I really hope they can help though or I wouldn’t have spent the time typing it out.

Private equity firms have been buying veterinary offices at an increased rate since 2020 and jacking up rates, especially in high COL areas so I’m not surprised. My dog needed a tooth extracted at the end of last year and the cost was just under $1000. I understand there are highly trained individuals working there that need to be paid appropriately but I wonder what the cost for me to have one tooth extracted would be?

If you’re going to come at me with a link about Ukraine, please make sure it’s from a website that’s not run by this guy:

Ben Aris: There’s a narrative in the mainstream media about, you know, "Stand with Ukraine and never report the negative stuff, only report the positive stuff." But people I deal with, professional investors in particular, they're interested in what's actually going on because they've got money in the game in the form of investments and assets.

I don’t think the negative stuff shouldn’t be reported but fuck him and his professional investor friends.

BTW: Ben Aris has controlling interest in the company that owns the link you shared and got his start in journalism in Moscow.

Where are you reading that is a radar for ICBMs? The article just says a Krasukha radar jammer is reported to be there. Reading the Wikipedia article for these systems indicate that they can jam the radar for UAVs and drones. Since Ukraine has been using drones heavily, I can see why they would attack. I’m not saying that it doesn’t work against ballistic missiles but it’s seems like they have a lot of other applications to Russia’s war effort.

I may be wrong but I believe dish soap is an alkaline/base and I know vinegar is acidic. If you mix the two, they are going to neutralize each other. I’d try just the vinegar and some hot water, that’s I use to clean water scale build ups.

It’s like a really nice bromance for two old men. They could be best friends or potentially in a more intimate relationship. It’s honestly weird how seeing these two just hanging out and being happy brings me joy even though I know it’s fake. Boomer politics really fucked a lot of us up didn’t it?

Same thing happened with US military aid in the Middle East for the last 20 years. We haven’t changed anything so why would this time be different? guessing in another year, we’ll see the same headline about the aid we sent to Israel.

My opinion is that life is too short to spend that much of it at some place you hate. I thought I was going to pursue nursing as a career, too college classes, I was working part time at a hospital, and I went home from my job and constantly complained about work and dreaded going back there. I liked most of the people I worked with and the patients but the bureaucracy of the whole thing made the job impossible from everyone. I’m not sure what switched but I finally decided that I didn’t want to work at some place that was going to make me miserable. I’m not sure if my sharing that story helps but that’s my two cents.
