As far as I known, subsonic is currently closed source and other reimplemented the api with open source programs. Than some people got together to make a standard that was not tied to a closed source programs.

If someone is doing it on purpose, lead is supposedly sweet. If not lead could be used in pipes or making of tools.

Depending on how many people you want connected, could try something like tailscale or zerotier. I been using tailscale and I think it is easier.

I don't know the full answer, but the surgeon would not be the only doctor in the room. There would at least be an anesthesiologist, and supporting nurses.

Look for hobby clubs or meet ups in your area. I have met people in an amateur radio club, D&D meet up, and a jeep 4x4 club.
