Thank you! No way to tell but on my part I just want to be able to say I did the best I could (within the skills I had at the time and I didn't half-ass it). Also I noticed that I've longed in 720 hours during development of the game. So I've played it for over 700 hours, I can't tell if it's good or not anymore lol

Thanks, I might look for someone who is actually good at 3D modelling for my next game. Having to everything just sucks.

Thank you! Yeah I'm not planning my future spending based on wishlists. I know that many things can go wrong. Some within my control and some out of it. In the end of the day I just want to say I did my best and worked as hard as I could. Will streamers play it? Will people buy it? I have no idea and no way to know really...

Haha, probably some overlapping tags with Firewatch, but Out Worlds? I haven't really played it is it a space walk sim or something?

For context: I’ve been working on the game for almost 19 months now and for a very long time it had a low wishlist count. As I started updating the Steam page with new images and gifs and posting about it regularly the people who were interested in the game grew. Today I woke up to check on Steamworks and it turns out it’s 7000+ wishlist! (It was around 300 for the first YEAR of development).

But here is the thing, I’m not one of those guys who quits their job to pursue gamedev. You see posts like these all the time, I’m not even sure if most of them are even real, but I feel that is a HUGE risk. One I’m not willing to take, as I can’t afford to go two years without pay. A safer thing to do is to do gamedev on the side. But the amount of work you have to do is pretty much like having a second job. I think that if you treat it as hobby you will never get there. So I started treating my free time as a currency and trying to optimize how I spend it. Currently most of it is spent on game dev. Haven’t seen any of my friends for a few months now. And haven’t even turned on the PS4 in the living room since September. I only have time to play some classic games at nights on the weekend. Funny story but the other week at 2 A.M. I was staying late, with just the laptop in the dark and my girlfriend comes in and asks what the hell am I doing in the dark. I was actually playing Splinter Cell, and she looks at my screen and there it was Sam Fisher holding a terrorist at gun point.

One thing I refuse to compromise with is diet and workouts. I try to cook my own food and have only home made meals. I plan for each week so I save time when eating. Something I’ve found out is that it’s pointless to over exhaust yourself with no sleep and shitty diet. In the end you are not in a better state to be creative and as your well being suffers, your game suffers to. So I just work on my job during the day, and then from 18:00 to 23:00 I switch to my game. Somehow I squeeze in there 3 dog walks, 2 meals and a dinner with the wifu.

After almost two years, I’m wrecked. Will do it again tho. I have two cool ideas for other games and I really want to see happen (one is kind of a Psychological Thriller, the other is a Cozy Game).

P. S. Thank you if you have wishlisted it already and if not, please consider doing so : )

Thank you so much!

I know it's just 10 people but it's been a rough few months and I think it's a good idea to celebrate the small victories. : )

Hey all, as you may know from my previous posts I make indie games and I decided to take a little break from my main project and spend 3 days to make a scary (but also kind of humorous) horror game for my girlfriend. It's called the Terrors of Adulthood and the theme is all the bs the we have to deal with as adults. I presented it to hereon Halloween and she kinda liked it (she's not really a gamer). So I decided it to post it here because this is my first venture into the horror genre and I'm not going to lie, it's kind of exciting. I might go all in on a horror game in the future. I kind of like small atmospheric stuff that slowly immerse you in their horrors. I would love some feedback from actual gamers Also I want to say the ending is from an inside joke that we have - I'm not making any statements about relationships, feminism, modern society or anything like that. Here are the controls: WASD, ARROWS - Movement E - interact with objects (up to the player to find out which objects are intractable) Space - Jump F - skip intro when replaying

I didn't have time to make menus or restart screens as I was in a hurry to finish the experience by Halloween. So ALT+F4 to quit the game. :D

P.S. I'm not sure if these types of post are allowed. If they are not - mods feel free to remove it. :)

So I just read this book on history of games called "Blood, Sweat and Pixels" and was fascinated by the chapter on The Witcher 3 and mostly how the team put in so much thought and care in every single side quest. And seems that there are a lot of moral decision to be made on each adventure. So I finally decided to give it a try. Got any advice for me?

Hello guys, I’ve noticed a lot of people here are hungry for more games like the Stanley Parable. After playing the O.G. game and the Deluxe edition I’ve found myself wanting more of this. More of these meta, narrator led, weird humour games! I started work on my called Do Not Press The Button (To Delete The Multiverse). You can check it on Steam here and follow the development.

I’m really open to ideas and suggestions of stuff you maybe miss in The Stanley Parable or mechanics you would like to see or even wacky characters! (So I can shamelessly steal them, nah j.k. I will ask your permission to include your ideas)

My game reached 4000 wishlists on Steam and I'm pretty sure I have some of you here to thank! For those that haven't seen it yet here its : ) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse/
