Good thing I never trusted it.

Right wing woman haters are the same the world around.

The worst part about the world order after WW1 is when the British and French fucked over their Arab allies with the Sykes Picot agreement that screwed up the middle east, and how they betrayed them that allowed the Saudis to take over Arabia.

The world would have been a very different place if the Hashimites took over Arabia. The whole Middle East would have been like Jordan, stable, peaceful, low crime, and wealthy. Also women have a hell of a lot more rights and being gay is legal.

But we HAD to live in our time line and have idiots draw borders with rulers on paper without any regard for what will happen.

Kinda like how software crackers have a pirated version of a game ready to go within hours, regardless of the encryption.

I guess that does make sense.

That came to mind, too. If this shit isn't open source it is not worth spit.

Fucking exactly!

This is something I wish cyberpunk media touched more on.

One thing I always thought about when playing cyberpunk 2077 is why wouldn't companies have a failsafe for their equipment being used against them. In the game, you can use cyber decks from Arisaka and Militech and be able to hack and assault their infrastructure and employees with impunity.

I am not really sure companies would allow that...

They NEED shit like that to exist. Bullshit needs more bullshit to survive. This is why despite murdering countless people and endless campaigns funded by billions of dollars there are still leftist movements that won't die.

113 years ago the Triangle Waistshirt Factory Fire also killed a fuckload of people... and the owners got off scot-free.

Most certainly. I mean why can't Israel just put all their military assets in one very clearly cordoned off area in the desert with a big neon sign that says 'all our tanks, artillery, airplanes, small arms, and ammunition for everything is right here' and make abso-fucking-lutely sure that no civilian is within 10KM of the area and anyone working there is 100% military and also armed.

Oh and they can't live on-base. Because that is still using them for human shields, too. Oh and nothing 'civilian' to transport them either. Regular cars and buses? Nope. Only armored vehicles. Anything else would be perfidity!

I mean if they have a single area that is put in secret it is like them being worse than Hamas. Actually it means they ARE Hamas all along! Bomb them! Bomb them to the stone age!

This is why I still download movies and try to keep them. They make up the bulk of the crap I keep on my hard drives.

And there was a time when the computer science world wanted to avoid this... and it was 1990 (yes, almost 35 years ago) when the term digital dark age was coined. It was in response to several things. Firstly: the first voyager probe was sent and the code used to store the information could not be disciphered by (then) the latest computers, which resulted in a problem. The second thing is that governments all around the world were starting to be heavily computerized and the older computers used in the 1960s were 100% incompatible with newer systems.

In the US and UK in 1960 the first census were done by computers, and by just 1976 there were only two computers in the world that could read that data, and one of them was a museum piece.

The FOSS community has done far more to combat this with emulation over the past 30 years than any corporation has ever done. Whether it is for video games like MAME, MESS, or whatever console emulator you want to mention, or by OSes like MS-DOS and Amiga Lemon and countless others that emulate almost every system ever created.

Now these fucks are just shitting all streaming media and forcing normal people to have to break the law by pirating the stuff just to keep the stuff from vanishing into oblivion.

Because as you know, bombing cities didn't happen during WW2.
