Even if they encrypt it, the computer needs access to the data thus needs the decryption key. So it's not very secure anyway.

Was going starting to add some to my Goodreads, but seems it's only kindle editions, so it's a no go for me. Conversion just doesn't work reliably enough for it to be worth it to spend the money and do all the manual hassle to get a normal epub version that works on everything.

They claim to not track you then, but just to be sure I finally took the step and deleted both Facebook and Instagram.

Kinda sucks, because those are the platformed I used mostly to keep informed about local events and businesses.

Just to clarify what I mean: look at hackernews, they have it.

 

That's what's really missing; the ability to see before I click if it's a link to YouTube, Facebook or somewhere else. Don't need the whole path, just the domain part.
