Oh I browse on mobile on the browser too. I think you can click the button with the 3 lines and click Subscribed instead of All to get your subs.

This is also janky atm, but if you want to see your list of the magazines you subscribed to, there actually is a way xD You click Profile, then there's a bunch of metrics (number of boosts you did, threads you made, etc. ), and you scroll to the right until you see "Subscribed". When you click that, it shows your magazines so you can go to them. I'm sure they'll make this a lot easier to get to in the future

What notifications do you have?
I have this

Notify me of new threads in a subscribed magazine <- I actually deselected this because I got too many notifications for me to look through

here is one for kbin https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/52838/A-starting-guide-to-kbin-social-support-thread-for-new-users

I think lemmy has a documentation website, and even though it's called documentation, it can be helpful when you want to add a community that's not already searchable.

I do have a tip for kbin too, which is to visit your Settings sooner than later and opt into notifications so you can actually be able to respond back to people. The default is very barebones which I guess is good

Is there any way to get all the past posts of a community where I'm the first to subscribe/adding it to my instance?

If there is, then that's really great, but if there isn't it's sounding like a con to me, of making an account on a newer instance.

What does it mean to be a bot account? I saw the setting, but I didn't know what it meant

I love avatar the last airbender too. I haven’t found a show like it since. Besides that, I still like anime (though less nowadays because of some sexist parts)

I think that is true that most people will not leave reddit. I’m in a subreddit called redditalternatives, and lately not many people are posting in it anymore. It definitely feels like a niche thing, but I think it’s okay. Reddit won’t last forever, and in the meantime, we can be seeing if fediverse is the way forward. This isn’t the first time reddit screwed up and it won’t be the last.

They’re also I think trying to become like tiktok and give lots of forever scrollable content, but I think tiktok/youtube shorts already fill that niche

I think number 1 is important so it’s easier to move. Otherwise we could feel centralized to one instance rather than feeling free to federate

It could help too if maybe on the sign up page, if an instance is getting full, they suggest some instances that are less full to join. That way people can be guided without having to do research on their own (before they’ve even decided to commit to the fediverse)

The downtime is getting better though. I made this kbin account like 2 days ago and logged off right away cuz I was trying to figure out magazines and each time I clicked something, it said I was not logged in and I had to relog.

Today I’m trying it out again and everything is working, though sometimes I get a 503 error if I try to open a page or post something

Are you talking about subscribing to a magazine? I do it on mobile by clicking the magazine I want, clicking the top left square button modal with the 3 lines, then scroll down until you see the magazine name to click Subscribe
