People praising Bill Gates don't know or don't remember what an absolute wanker he was. He did more to enshitify the IT industry than anyone else during his time at the head of Microsoft.

Raspberry as NAS, multiple HDDs and an enclosure in c/selfhosted@lemmy.world

The Raspberry Pi would be a great low power device to have always on with some storage attached to backup to, store family photos, etc.

So not a high performance NAS, but good enough for this use case.
