What price range are you buying at? I have basically never had this experience.

Tanger - Bad Number The song itself loops perfectly, so it is a no-brainer to put it on loop.

I've heard from many commenters in this thread that Blender and Davinci Resolve play nicer with Nvidia than with AMD when it comes to Linux.

Why should I plan on not using wayland? Is it because of the Nvidia support? I use Fedora normally so I'd have to install x11 after installation as Fedora recently dropped x11 support.

I would be fine with using windows just for Davinci resolve if that makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for the information, it's all very helpful. I'm thinking of just using my laptop as a secondary device when I'm out of the house, so a hard drive upgrade won't be necessary, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. As for a distro, I'll most likely be using Fedora.

Thx for the information!

Thanks so much. I don't have a budget set yet, but it didn't occur to me that I can just upgrade if I need higher specs haha, so that'll make budgeting a lot easier.

Good to know, thanks.

My laptop is running out of storage space and I don't have anything I can remove anymore to increase it by much, so I'm thinking about building a pc. I'd also like to find a better gpu for doing video editing.

It will be the first one I've built, so I don't really know what I need. Also, does it matter for compatibility for Linux whether I go with AMD or Intel?

The high end of what I want to use it for is video editing with Kdenlive or Davinci Resolve, some modeling and animation in Blender, and some light gaming, like Minecraft or TUNIC.

I figure one of these guides might be useful, but I don't really know which.

Is there anything else I should know for setting up a PC to run Linux?

Edit: Maybe these guides from Logical Increments can help actually.

It also asks me to use the app.

I was trying to look up the company where I was thinking of applying, but it said I needed to sign in to view the review, so I entered some fake information. Once I was signed in I went back to the page thinking I could read the review, but now I need to write a review before I get access to Glassdoor!

Just wanted to highlight this project because I've had to take many personality tests for school and work and things, and this is the most accurate one I've seen, and the only one where I feel I'm actually learning about myself from the results.

So if you need a personality test for any reason this one's pretty good.

I have been trying for many hours now to print this circular model, but have been running into inconsistent extrusion and stringing. just before printing this, I successfully printed a set of Hextraction tiles, so I'm not really sure what the issue is. I also printed this model successfully in the past with the same settings.

I am using a Sovol SV06 with stock firmware, and PLA with the hotend at 195° C.

I also did a full calibration to see if that would fix the issue, and it did not.

It's very cool

I'm currently using Fedora KDE Plasma, but I'd like to try out a tiling window manager. What would you all reccomend? I use my computer for school, so I would like it to be stable.

It appears every few times I open the app and the usual android back button doesn't make it go away, and there is no cancel button. What you have to do is toggle the toggle, then the button will change to "do not back up" and then you can press it. It annoys me how easy this makes it to accidentally turn on backup.

As a general rule of thumb, I don't set it for the regular 15 minute increments, because it probably won't go off. Today, I set it for 10:37 and it went off at 10:46! 😠

The test prints in the image use the 0.2mm detail mode and 0.07mm ultradetail mode

I recently got a SV06, my first 3D printer, about a month and a half ago. About a week ago I started to find really bad oozing/ stringing on all of my prints, to the point that any functional prints are basically unusable. So far what I have tried is:

  • Cleaning the nozzle, inside and out, using a damp cloth and the metal needle tool that came with the printer.
  • Drying the filament. I had two rolls that I was using for the current print, so I used a DIY Dryer to dry both rolls, each on 70 degrees celcius for 4+ hours.

Neither of these have worked. What should I do next?
