Can you find anyone who provides samples?

I have used this website (UK based so no help to you I'm afraid) in the past and they provide small quantities of filament for you try https://3dfilaprint.com/filament-samples/

Might be worth having a look around to see if there is anyone stateside who does a similar service.

My latest project has begun

Progress has sort of stalled on the rest of the mob, but I thought you might like to see the first three members of my Gorkamorka boys.

These were printed on my Ender 3 with a 0.2mm nozzle.

I've just finished tweaking this Leman Russ proxy, inspired by the very original model released for Epic back in the 80s. It's designed to be easy to print in FDM (no supports required for printing), the one pictured was printed on a stock Ender 3.

I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out, I've a little bit of tidying up to do, but hope to have the model up on Cults3D next week.

The guardsmen were printed from scans of the original 80s plastic kit the ogryns are scans of the 90s metal ones and the commissar is from cults3d.

All printed on an Ender 3 with a 0.2mm nozzle (apart from the bases, they used a 0.4mm nozzle, I'm not insane).
