On the one hand, I'm as tired of ports and remakes as anyone else. On the other, TTYD is a perfect RPG and the exact opposite of what they've done to Paper Mario for two generations, so it not only gets a pass but a big fat golden power star.

Honestly a handheld PS4 equivalent of the Steam Deck sounds nice too.

I feel like I'm in the minority when I'm looking forward to Nintendo making a high-powered console for once. The last time their hardware was on par with or better than the rest of the industry was the Gamecube, which was an amazing little system.

Gamefreak? Having 'conversations' about not releasing unfinished, unpolished garbage? Why would they? Pokemon fans have nonexistent standards and will buy it anyway no matter what. I wish I worked for these people, they really lucked into an infinite money printing machine.

I love the shit out of Dread. Considering how big an upgrade Dread is over the already excellent Samus Returns, whatever Metroid 6 is will be crazy good.

Nintendo has this weird habit of thinking extremely little of their players and assuming they are simply too stupid to play video games, and therefore need to have their hands held or be distracted with flashy gimmicks. Their actual base gameplay mechanics are some of the best in the business but they rarely actually ask the player to apply themselves. I don't think anyone likes to be condescended to. If it weren't for Metroid and Zelda, I don't think I'd put up with their underpowered shield tablet.

With the success of BotW and TotK, that style of game is probably here to stay. But I would really like to see another more 'grounded' classic 3D Zelda. Not like Skyward Sword. More like Twilight Princess.
